Well to all you negative bods out there, I can confirm that TVR are back!
I have, today, placed a (substantial) deposit on a new TVR!
I have been told by the salesman, (the very reverend Charles Mugombo, of TVR Nigeria), that my car will be delivered, next week, guaranteed!

Why do PH always pander to this deluded schoolboy? This must be the 5th or 6th time the imminent revival of TVR has been announced here. PH is running out of credibility.
bit like the credibility of someone who posts about something yet rather obviously hasnt read the details - LOL Why do PH always pander to this deluded schoolboy? This must be the 5th or 6th time the imminent revival of TVR has been announced here. PH is running out of credibility.

Great and at least its a reality, not the latest fable from Russia.Could there be any creditability in any car produced by the present owner or whatever,
Real TVR, r.i.p.

quite possibly they are well aware of the reaction, and reactions to previous announcements, and are doing it all on purpose... either clever or accidental
Indeed. The very fact that we all react like a dog humping brand new bedding every time a Press Release is given out is a sure sign that, contrary to what some posters say, the TVR brand *is* worth something. Hellbound said:
Yes, absolutely. From the article it sounds to me like they are finalizing a business plan that will most likely be a budget, schedule and method statement. In none of them do you need to know what it will ultimately look like, just that you have a realistic business case.As daft as it sounds, I'm happier they've done this than yet another mocked up supercar that only exists in a computer with no sound business plan behind it.
The fact that its been sold to someone in the UK is positive - remember that it was not long ago that he strongly stated that he'd never sell?
All you need is the name and the rest is finance, engineering and marketing. Once you have the name, you employ (good) people for the rest. What will be telling is what they do next, a good initial press release will make or break the idea... in my mind at least.
you know what, a lot of complaining has gone before about TVR re-births under the Russian; however it would appear that he has gone for good now. Maybe give this new guy the benefit of the doubt you lot and stop whining about the past. He could be planning to make good everything the Russian broke, as hard or impossible as that may be. He might even be competent and well funded!! You lot know nothing about him or his plans (a handful of words on a website does not constitute an announcement or press release) so maybe stop bringing your own personal bitterness before you even know anything whatsoever. Before anyone starts with me about the concept of a TVR not being viable any more due to legislation etc etc, I don't care. Just give the guy a break.

That is all fine, but what do you get when you buy 'TVR'?The badge/brand image and what else?
Given the new car will likely be totally new bar a bought in engine (I guess) then maybe it was an opportunity to re-brand... unless the TVR brand really is that strong? But if it was then why did the original TVR go under?
