Really easy one for me - 1961, the year this was launched:

I'll have to go for the Swedish one then

Hmmm, so you've taken the two most obvious ones.

I was surprised these were launched so early, but pleased. Couldn't find a '61 vintage, so here's a youngster:

That is nice, good choice

Yes indeed....lovely cars those early Alpines. The later A310s were also great things.

Old school Fords are great in my book....and if you want to play at being Colt (Lee Majors) in the 'Fall Guy' go ahead - pick ups are rare on here smile
Thanks for making me try to feel better. The XR3 was deeply uncool in the 90s but I actually quite like them now. It's still not a Ferrari 250 GT or Aston Martin DB5 Vantage though is it?

Anyway, have no fear. I have since discovered that the S3 Lotus Esprit Turbo was first released in 1980 as the "Essex" special edition. Surely one of the coolest cars from the 1980s? 150mph and 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds, not too shabby for a 2.2 4-pot in 1980 either!

Also driven by 007 in "For Your Eyes Only" in white

and later "rebuilt" in Copper metallic.

Interesting that Roger Moore has been in the most Bond films and yet never drove an Aston in any of them (I think all the others have at some point). As much as I love Astons, I'm a bit disappointed that Bond didn't stick with a Lotus. He could have had the new S4 Esprit in "The Living Daylights" rather than the Vantage but maybe a 2.2 Turbo wasn't sufficient to outrun the bad guys by 1987?

It didn't stop them from giving Brosnan one of these though!

It's a shame that the new Esprit never came to fruition (I can't see Bond in an Elise/Exige/Evora) . I would much rather see Bond in one of these than the rather cynical non-production DB10 that they cobbled together for "Spectre". I'm not sure why Aston Martin didn't deem the latest Vanquish worthy!

Or maybe they could give him one of these:

The car I own was 'born' at the factory the very same week as me in 1964, does that count? It would have been my choice anyway had I been born in 1959

1953. I'm old too.

Why are some people just posting pictures but not giving the year?
