I can't unsee that. Ridiculous price. Should be £1500

In other news:

I'm looking for a second car to sit with the S6 - either that or a Maserati (God help me). I need something sharp and fullfilling to drive as well. I have been eyeing up these:

The feature of SO MANY evo group tests.

Very interesting. I suspect you wouldn't lose much on that.

Nice car. I did think of these actually, but don't see many within thread budget. They cheaper ones do sell very quickly it seems.

It looks great compared to some of the other V10 S6s at a similar price. Did you do all the miles in it? Rather a lot of fuel I expect laugh

It is isn't it. I did note a lightweight "R" for well within the budget allocation a few weeks ago, but it seemed too cheap for its capabilities - but i suspect its part of the national obsession with brands rather than dynamics/driving (each to their own). Or maybe it didn't really drive straight? Who knows...

I like that a lot - honestly what does it do mpg wise?
Great colour
Looks in good condition
Just as fast as the RS6 C5 without the issues
Easy to tune up
230bhp/tonne

The twin turbo RS6 C6 is 290bhp/tonne and 3 seconds quicker to 100mph 8.6sexonds.

Interestingly a CLK500 with the 5.5 V8 is 230bhp/ton

Now finding one for £10k? No chance.

I have seen the CLS500 with that engine quite regularly in thread budget, though

Thanks! Deceptively wonderful cars.
Averaged 19mpg so far, regularly see 10mpg on my grocery runs. So glad the ghetto wheels are gone, made a world of difference.
Only reason I'm selling is because I follow these barge threads religiously and want to tick some more off the list.
Note the other barge/shed S124 I've got for sale is a result of watching the 1-5k smoker barge thread.

Well that 19mpg is better than my V8 C5 S6 as its stuck on a stubborn 17.6mpg with me driving.

The thing is they look and sound SO good.

Could you risk running one for 6months.... Tempting and offload before it goes pop.
Ok, you know we have had some fairly silly cars right? And you know that our bork-factor score (like Experian credit score, only in minus figures) is running second to only a few others in these barge threads? And judas and I STILL wouldn't consider one.

Does that answer your question? hehe

Beautiful cars especially in dark blue.
I had the D2 S8 and had some major issues with the engine.
I remember being stuck in traffic on the motorway and a car full of lads in a Primera GT pull up. Driver winds the window down and shout in a Yorkshire accent "let's hear some of that V8 noise"
Made it worth spending all the money on fuel and repairs just for that one anorak moment.

I obviously bottled it and didn't rev it for them ...

You're doing it wrong old boy. The philosophy is to buy lots of old barges, not to actually sell any. Instant classic collection, innit!

Depending on exchange rate, possibly just over the top of budget, but, still a bit of stealthy stealthness...

I do hate it when a dealer puts load of guff from wikipedia in the advert, but not basic things like mileage!

www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C788151

Nice car, shame about the wheels. I do quite fancy a big old Merc
Saab looks good, but yeah, annoying advert. Wonder what the miles are?

You'd think the small niggles would be sorted on the Merc for that price, no? I'd want a new MOT on it too
Saab has 111k miles according to website.

That looks like Oxford Green, a fabulous E39 M5 colour
