Every time down the main straight was grit your teeth and hang on. I think it was one long ffffuuuuuucccccckkk actually, so just as well they didn't turn on the radio! It's just so incredibly intense, the car is vibrating away, the wind buffeting is like someone boxing your ears and your helmet is trying to fly. You can feel everything. Jinking across the track imperfections, how stiff the chassis is and how tight all the controls are.
Awesome!! That lottery win is all that I need now LOL.Great experience OP. I was fortunate enough to drive an F1 car as part of a corporate jolly several years ago (1996 forte corse) .
I found it hugely demanding to drive with my brain having to recalibrate every lap as it just kept going faster than you ever imagine a car could particularly on the brakes. It had a three peddle set up with a sequential six speed manual which was fantastic. The noise was interesting as I couldn't hear the exhaust, just a mechanical induction thrash from above my head.
I had to be lifted out of the car after the session as I had no strength left but it was the biggest high I've ever had.

Brilliant write up, OP! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm interested to know more about how the car is run, if you don't mind, given that they're bloody complex bits of kit however they're being used.
Roughly how many staff were there with the car you were driving, or were they shared across multiple cars so hard to tell? Were there different people specialising in different aspects of the car, for example?
What a great thread.

What a wonderful experience, the go-pro footage is absolutely brilliant! You've answered a question that I was about to ask around the sound from inside the car, and does it sound as good as the outside... Pleased you shared the outside noise as you blatted past, wow, wow, wow!
