Best way is always to be aware of where the nearest tunnel or bridge is. Then, when you hear the helicopter, make a dash for it.
I've actually seen that happen near me. I would recommend covering the roof in felt to avoid.
Can't helicopters fly under bridges?

They can but doesn't often end well.

The basics are they need access to your keys .
The latest cars have an electronic key , just a coded signal .
Have you not read the thread? They don't need physical access to the keys, they can be accessed electronicly from outside your house, hence the entire discussion.

It is not recommended when they are carrying an electromagnet on a long cable.

Read it again .
No access to the key .
They key in this case is the signal .
If they cannot access the signal they don't have the key .
It is just the modern equivalent of fishing your keys off the hall table through the letter box .
For the others that access via OBD port , delete the function or make access much harder such as high security window film .
If they cannot get the key / code / signal they will move on to easier pickings .

Agree door bypassed way too easy but given it was 7pm and armed with machetes not sure if a tougher door was going to stop them

I have an old smartphone that is powered in the boot via the power socket and transmits its position every now and again via some software and it's also electronically "ringfenced" as well and will text position when moved.

Not exactly the most expensive method and also easy to remove but OK for quick theft I suppose.

How do you work that?

If car makers had to insure their vehicles they would be much harder to steal and the parts for accident repair would be cheaper.

A stolen car is another potential purchase.
If Apple can brick a phone then the tech is there to make cars theft proof.

Get two massive hungry rottweilers. They might get in but they're not getting out alive / without loosing some limbs.

fking scary, but yes, anti-snap locks, if it was even locked, would've stopped them getting in through the door, they'd have to smash their way in through a window. They'd then hopefully have enough time to barricade themselves in upstairs and call the police.

To be honest, the odd burglary might be easier and cheaper than caring for and feeding two massive dogs, am sure they can be lovely but quite happy with our daft as a brush, but vocal terrier type thing, he is early warning to lots of things, postmen, binmen, pigeons, foxes, hedgehogs etc, that the main thing with dogs, their superior hearing and making a racket.

Was thinking more electronic and physical stuff, things that dont need two cans of dog food, a three mile walk twice a day and £50 insurance each a month !

Our village, and the surrounding areas in the Solihull “burbs” as the ol bill call them, have been under siege since spring last year, everything up for grabs, £5k’s worth of my bicycle’s were taken, and they have been back, but i’ve Armoured my defences and they failed. Cars have been taken by force all over the county, they come and visit us “rich folk” (people who work) and take our stuff, our road which has just 12 houses on it, had NO cctv at all the start of the year, now 7 of us do, two doors down their 6 month old c350 got taken by forced entry off the drive, they won’t have a high value car again, the 8 year old girl won’t go to bed, she found the house devastated and is having issues, our other friends have had a c250 taken by forced entry, they got burgled again 3 months later, car was with them at work this time, but they dug the safe out of the floor!!
We were having two cars a week go, masked raiders jumping walls, Mad Max lawlessness.
The village now has A Face book network, we are like fecking meer Cats!
The innocence of the village has been taken to be honest.

Anyway, I stash my real spare car key, and in the draw I leave an exact non fitting, non working key, hopefully that will slow them down!
