This type of topic just segregates users into two categories: Those who like to have dreams and those who only think about what's possible.
Neither is better than the other, it's just interesting to see both sides of the coin. I'm a dreamer and i don't think about running costs for cars i can't afford.

Alpina estate? Review in latest issue of evo its the cheapest way to get a 200mph new car

Yeah that should be on my radar really. I specced one up on the Alpina site and I think it got ridiculously expensive compared to an equivalent E63s.

Having said that I'm off to try again, thanks biggrin

Are we allowing creations that are based on current production cars? 'Money is no object' is a strong statement.

For track days I would go and see Radical and Ultima and see which of them wanted a blank cheque more.

The other two would depend on what sort of mood I was in.

Maybe a S65 for comfort, or an M8, and a 720S for... something, not quite sure what. Rethinking, perhaps a G65 for practicality

Difficult as I am a luddite with a rather strong dislike for most things made in the last 10 years.

1. Fun car, Catarham 310S. With the weather pack, LSD and a few other choice extras. Love the characterful aggressively cammed 1.6 over the more powerful 2.0s. A fairly timeless car that will never seem dated.

2. Winter daily/utility. Mercedes G63. As above, timeless. Would take all my willpower to not sell it for a Defender with one of those fruity 5.9/6.7 lorry engines folk swaped in to it. Not a fan of the latest G model swapping offroad robustness for road handling either. Still a beautifully engineered 'truck' though.

3. Motorway stormer. Something that can sit at a ton with the cruise on in total silence. Difficult choice as I don't know any modernised classics that would slot in here as in the above. Literally all the modern big saloons just look the same, no interesting engines (V6 or I4 diesels). EDIT: After another guy posted it, wouldn't be opposed to one of those E class based dodge Hellcats/Demons. Or a VXR8

Bugatti Veyron Record Edition. Simply because of the engineering. It was a hard choice between this and a 918 Spyder.

Aston Martin Zagato Shooting Brake for the daily duties, again another close call with a GTC4 Lusso.

Its got to be an F40 as a third.

Money no object you say?

"Hi, Mr de Chaunac, it's Mr. Gump here. I'd like a roadgoing P1 please. Oh, and can you build it round the Toyota V10? Thanks."

If that's not allowed on your game rules, then a chat with Mr. Glickenhaus about a P4-5.

For the dailies, RS6 estate in that nice dark grey (for me), and an Aston Rapide (for her).

I really think they are insanely cool, the sort of car you'd want to keep for a long time!

As you say though there is tough competition BUT they are all limited and not as exclusive!

Green with tan leather - what other options do you need!!??

Ha ha. I went on the configurator yesterday when I nominated the Alpina. That was the exact same combo I selected. Looked like it had everything else it needed.

M2, M3 & 911 GT3 RS.

In truth I don't like modern stuff.
I hear you. There are very few brand new cars that I would genuinely be excited to own over their predecessors but several of them would be BMWs. M2 and M3 not a bit similar in remit though? As for the person criticising people for choosing Fords, nothing wrong with Fords, they make some pretty awesome cars. Focus RS, Mustang GT, Ford GT etc...

Today my choice would be, Jaguar F-Pace SVR for family duties. A bit pointless but pretty cool at the same time. I nearly picked a RRS SVR but I've always preferred the F-Pace, it was just waiting for a proper engine and now it has one!

My daily would be an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio

And my supercar a toss up between an arancio borealis Hurracan LP550-2 or this (Ferrari just wins for me I think).

I'm not completely happy with that list. Nothing small, manual, light, fast, NA, RWD and inexpensive enough for me to enjoy on track or for B-road blasts but I can't really think of anything new. Lotuses don't really appeal to me and I can't really think of a new equivalent to a Z4 Coupe or Cayman GT4. M2 would be closest maybe but falls down in some aspects.

I would also love one of these as a fun runabout but I guess if someone had already been kind enough to buy me the above three cars then I could probably afford to buy this one myself! smile
