If anyone else is looking for a 530i, this looks well prepared:

It MAY be from an RAC approved vendor too. rolleyes

If you need more cylinders, but don't like to pay for all the extra fuel, and have good haggling shoes, this is almost in Thread budget...

I saw that one but was put off by the lingscars still ads in the photo section plus it's too far away from me. The interior looks nice though. Didn't realise my one with the TV/Sat Nav unit was quite rare (just found the hidden tape deck behind it biggrin ) and I even have straps for my luggage in the boot!

I'll start a readers car thread so I don't de-rail this one but enjoying silky smooth i6 with Air-con on full in this weather. First 200 miles done and average is 30mpg - that's not too bad?

A rare thread favourite - C6 V6 petrol avec LPG. May well end up over thread maximum I suspect.

That Citroen looks good, the vendor sounds like the right sort of overmaintainer we rarely see these days.

Changing the armrest for one without the car mount gives you anotger storage pocket, and really modernises the interior.

You can unplug the TV module as well I think, so the option disappears from the menu, which is nice. I can get 30 - 31 mpg on a long motorway run in my 540i, so you might get a bit more from yours as time goes on.

An oil change, gearbox service and laser alignment will probably help, as will tyre pressures from the book for fully loaded.

Surely this should be the new CdG Euro barge.

I quite like them, but LPG renders it a non-starter for the Channel tunnel. It seems to me the sort of thing that arouses the Speckled-one though?

The photos seem to go against the text. The photos are poor with no internals and yet the knowledge on door openers seems beard like.

He's the sort of man who goes to the trouble of hanging his jacket in the rear rather than launching it on the rear seat, but can't be bothered to take it out for the sales pics. confused

You're right. He sounds proper weird. I bet he's on here and 'one of us'!

I'd like to hear more about this and perhaps see some pics as I'm considering one of these. Do you have a thread running? A short precis of views posted here won't be inappropriate - we love the occasional off-piste foray.
No thread, but I can take a few pics and I'll happily give you a quick run down if Threaders don't mind. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in seeing a dedicated thread for it? I can happily do that though, if people think it's worth it.

Talking of “one of us” I had my first ride in an XJ (apart from the current model) since my uncle’s S1 XJ many moons ago, when they were current. Client offered a lift to the station 30 mins away. Apologies for no air con on walk to car park. 57 plate LWB diesel which impressed on all counts - the ride was superb, cream leather in good condition for 72k miles, a real sense of quality. Turns out he has an E46 convertible and a 66 Jag 240 - if only there was a thread secret handshake so I could see if he is indeed on here without sounding like a weirdo from the internet.

Picked up this Merc E350 Sport this evening. High miles, but has been loved and cherished, and so drives perfectly.
Very very happy!!

Ooh, I need a lie down. If only it was a bit closer - I'd be one of those awful timewasters and go and see it just for a drive.

Do you mean it looks like it's still in primer, or they didn't paint the whole car the same colour? I can see at least 3 different shades of grey (no pun intended!) and the line of the door on nearside is off. It is cheap though.

It was the resemblance to primer I was referring too, it's definitely not all one colour though, but I prefer that to rust and somehow it's more forgivable than if it were a metallic.

My Barge is back after its month long sojourn to the garage. Nice to have it back. I am a grand lighter but it should be good to go for another 12 months. I have been saving lots of jobs for it and so far have on my list

Tip run
Restock domestic supplies at Costco
Collect several loads of logs to stock up for winter
Take daughter 1 and teenage friends to Dorset
Take daughter 2 and luggage to Heathrow
Surprise a few ’yoofs’ with a spirited getaway from the lights wink

I don’t think I can manage without a barge!

Also fetishising over old Benz’s at the mo.

The nearside does look a bit out of sorts. Nevertheless, a lovely looking thing and the price doesn’t seem unreasonable given the work. But whoever laid those setts wants shooting!
