Very rarely does a ring video keep me captivated for a full 8 ish minutes, but this did! Really makes you realise how utterly pedestrian your own driving is, even with double the power. Great vid

Not the most fair comparison, mostly because this car has a cage and a LSD but whilst the posted video is entertaining, this shows a properly competent lap. It looks like it could be footage from a race

^^ Know the driver Pete, but not seen him for years, he wrote off one 306 by losing the back end at Gooseneck at Cadwell also had an ex BTCC car (306) at one point.

Great fun. Makes me miss hoons in FWD biscuit tins.
Sod that without a cage though.....especially with peugeots, er, legendary build quality.

Maybe it is because I'm getting on a bit...but I spent most of my time watching it worrying that if he did crash it was never going to end well in a car from that era...

I shouldn't really moan though because cars nowadays weigh so much that it spoils the fun somewhat, and they need tank loads of power to compensate for the weight annoyingly...but at least you don't have to worry about crashing though!

People seem to be enjoying seeing a well-pedalled 306 at the ring. Just sharing what I consider the finest example of this available on YouTube.

Did you watch it?

Yeah, I did. Tbh, in comparison to get video this thread is discussing, I found it pretty boring on account of not being able to see the driver's inputs.

This has got an intercooler suggesting it’s got forced induction. Great driving and great cars but think this write up is misleading as car appears to be more than just a stripped out GTI-6 on coil overs.

I think that's an aftermarket oil cooler

It doesn’t sound turbocharged to me. The tacho and the way he hangs onto gears looks like a NA engine to me?

Interesting footwork. Any other devotees of left foot braking here?
