Your pulling our fkin leg ain't yer?I really love the styling of German machinary.
Your quote - German cars look as bland as they come.
I have mine, and you have yours.
There is no right or wrong.

I really love the styling of German machinary...I do, however, think almost all American cars are absolutely hideous...
No bias there then... Dismissing every car on the sole basis of its country origin, is boarderline racism.
I have an opinion on the looks of American cars, which I'm entitled to have, same as anyone.
But my opinion, according to the PH troll, is racist .....

I agree.
PLENTY of BMW's and AUDI's, and probably MERCEDES could beat both the top speed, and quarter mile times, if they were delimited, and with 200 BHP less, so I don't see it as that impressive at all really, considering the BHP output.
It will be a cheap rattly interior, too.
Fitting drag radials LOL I bet they go round corners really well then NOT.
I guess, if you want a cheap, rattly, brick with a huge engine, which goes almost as fast as a handful of German machinary (but only in a straight line), and looks hideous then this is the exact car you need.
I'll stick with my refined, German machine, thanks.
Here's the thing the Charger Hellcat costs 72k in the US & comes loaded to spec an E63 to the same level will cost you 130k, I've not found them to be rattly but they are cheaper inside & so they should be with a nigh on 50k difference in price it's 30k (but that means 155 limiter) if you don't try to match the spec.PLENTY of BMW's and AUDI's, and probably MERCEDES could beat both the top speed, and quarter mile times, if they were delimited, and with 200 BHP less, so I don't see it as that impressive at all really, considering the BHP output.

The Charger handles well some people are getting confused with the Challenger which comes with a drag pack the Charger will walk away from an RS6 in any roll on above 40mph

I know this sounds a bit silly, but ~800hp for 203 MPH doesn't seem all that impressive.
A de-limited E50 M5 with 300 less BHP could do 205 MPH.
Does the Charger have much longer gearing? Or will the engine do more than 60k before it spins a bearing?

Those that delimited found that they couldn't get near that number but it did result in a fair few destroyed engines.A de-limited E50 M5 with 300 less BHP could do 205 MPH.

I would take my chances with a Yank rather than a Kraut any day.
But above Gnashers is explaining how many Audis/BMW/Mercedes if delimited (because they are limited to 155 mph) could easily outperform many cars in a quarter mile i.e. they were held back by being speed limited.
I wonder how much faster than a Senna they would have been
I love stuff like this but interested to see how owners feel using them over here.
The drag racing potential is mentioned a lot, but what is the handling like, is the whole thing dominated by the massive power and torque, can you use them down country lanes in an enthusiastic manner ?
I sometimes feel that American cars are fantastic in the US but dont make much sense over here, though I know this isnt about sense, just wondering what the reality would be like in the UK ?

My experience of M5s is that they feel much faster than they really are, because of the noise and rubbish suspension, and that any attempt to use them to their limited full results in a £10k + bill.

Completely disagree- they are faster than they feel. Take it from me as a owner - considerably faster than my old Jag over 100mph and far more stable at 155mph!I would take my chances with a Yank rather than a Kraut any day.

The well-known specialist importer shows off its range of Challengers converted to RHD. If only RHD would be available direct from the factory.

The background music is so bad, it's good. Entertaining in its ill-suited presence. Challenger in a couple of different colours is shown, as well as a few juicy bits of audio on acceleration.

Amercian cars have come on leaps and bounds in recent years, not just in horsepower but also in handling. New Corvette has been keeping up with Caymans in US tests, it’s a proper sports car by any standards. Yes, an 800bhp Challenger is going to be a straight-line dominated car, and is bigger and heavier than it looks. But it’s no fatter than say an S-class, and the Yanks don’t make them with live rear axles any more - so they do go round corners better than you’d think, if you swap the radials for more standard tyres.
Mustang in RHD is certainly fine in the UK, as will be the Corvette when it arrives. Wrong hand drive has it’s own challenges (or Challengers, if you prefer!) which make B-roads a little more diffficult if you have to do lots of passing.

Interestingly, the youtube clip is of the exact model of M5 which I had; I suspect that 339 kmh is a figment of someone’s vivid imagination (by about 80 kmh), and some creative video software, or ecu settings. As for the mechanical integrity; engine failures at sub 50,000 miles and the suspension crashing over bumps regardless of mileage. A fast car, it’s true, but not nearly as fast as its reputation, and worse, a troublesome dog.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byZiRsKncWo&t=...

The way mine pulls to the indicated 170mph limiter, leaves me no doubt that it could hit 200mph with limiter removed.
FYI, my M6 doesn't crash over bumps and has been great for reliability.
I would say it's performance & dynamic reputation is accurate.

An M135i will do almost 170 derestricted, Lotus Carltons had 376 bhp and did 176, so can imagine an M5/M6 with 500 bhp must be getting on for 200 ?
