If they were going to make this as bespoke as they have, why don't they pay attention to the absolute basics! Infuriating.
The interior looks utter pants - it looks like I made those pedals - and my OCD could not live with the wonky gear stick surround.
I'm out.
Who cares? If they were going to make this as bespoke as they have, why don't they pay attention to the absolute basics! Infuriating.

If you want an interior, go buy an Audi or the Mercedes A-Class. The money has been spent elsewhere - where it really counts.

Obviously as enthusiasts we absolutely love this, but do we actually think that it will sell well to the wider audience? Or will the sales to the enthusiasts be enough for Toyota.
I don't think it'll sell to mainstream buyers. People buying new at this price point are usually buying as a couple or for a daily/family hack and I don't think they'll go for this over a C Segment hot hatch that has more practicality and better standard equipment plus more nameplate recognition in that segment.People who get one will be people who really want one.

I assume its due to the crash test and seat height being for the slower (japan only) models. If they were going to make this as bespoke as they have, why don't they pay attention to the absolute basics! Infuriating.

I don't get the weird obsession with interiors on a forum for car driving enthusiasts but each to their own.
This is a mad car in so many ways, I'm amazed Toyota have put so much money into its development, just to get a shell for the WRC. They should have put as much into the Supra!

I’m a bit divided on this...
On one hand I think it’s brilliant that Toyota have out so much into engineering something like this especially with ICE cars coming to an end at some point. It sounds like a great little car to drive and will no doubt be pretty rare.
But on the I can’t see beyond the price but I’m guessing I’m probably not really the target audience for one. I wonder how much the initial excitement is helping the journalists etc gloss over short comings like the interior.
Overall, I’m glad it exists.

Its not a short coming, the seat/gear position ratio is bespoke, dash position is bespoke. Its made to be lightweight. Try chasing this down a UK A-B road in a focus rs etc.

Just spoke to a dealer and been advised that you have to order on line and the car will be delivered to your local dealer.
In addition he said numbers are going to be limited in UK, surely limited numbers will only be on the first batch.
Anyone had similar info from dealer or is this incorrect.
Not strictly correct, there are 54 GR dealers, so I suspect they are not one of them.In addition he said numbers are going to be limited in UK, surely limited numbers will only be on the first batch.

You can order online, or via a dealer, I have sold a number to PH members.
There is no limit on the numbers at the moment, Deliveries are showing Feb '21 for orders now.

Are there any better finance deals available by going through a GR dealer instead of online? You can order online, or via a dealer, I have sold a number to PH members.

I've noticed some Toyota dealers are doing 0% PCP deals over 24 months.
'*0% APR Representative only available on new retail orders of GR Yaris between 1st October 2020 and 15th December 2020 and registered and financed through Toyota Financial Services by 31st March 2021 on a 24 month Toyota AccessFlex (PCP) plan with 0%-35% deposit.'

what an amazing thing for toyota to do.
its surely a class or two above a fiesta.
Why would you even consider a fiesta over this? Given the quality, residuals, warranty and totally bespoke nature, its amazing really.
On paper I agree, but you can get a new Fiesta ST PP for near enough 20k with more standard kit and with a map from a reputable tuner like Revo or Mountune you'll get similar power figures and rolling performance with a great-handling chassis.its surely a class or two above a fiesta.

Obviously the GR is an entirely different and much more interesting beast but considering you're likely not getting any discounts it's between 10-15k more depending on options. If someone gave me the option or money to chop my Fiesta in for this I would but it's not quite that simple.
