What's a twin disc brembo?
ventilated rotors
Never once heard them described that way... Even Google drew a blank.
2 piece floating rotors i'd imagine.

Honda Reveal FK8
Car Guys: Too Halfords, Too Garish, Too Extreme, Ugly, Needs to be more restrained/German

Honda reveal the FL5
Car Guys: Not Extreme enough, too restrained, boring, too German

Honda just can't win...
I fit into both of these camps biggrin

FK8 on release I thought it was a bit OTT but it grew on me and I came to quite like it,

Now I look at this and think it's a bit boring but I'm sure it'll be a grower too.

I second this, the twin exhaust set up just works, its also a cleaner more symmetrical look in my opinion, at least Honda is using `proper` pipes have you seen the god awful fake vents on new Audis saw an SQ5 the other day, looks okay but the fake exhaust ruins it for me.
RsQ3 I was behind in sham the other day wins this award every time stty twin pipes in a massive oval

It's crazy people are choosing a car that is festooned with fake vents (that ended up being utterly useless), as well as plastic cladding to make it 'look' like it has wide arches, over a car that has completely functional vents and proper wide arches and unique Type R rear doors to accommodate the rear arch to help keep the lines fluid. That is actual money spent where it should have been the first time round. The engine changes look like it'll be a stronger unit too.
And then there's the far nicer interior in the new car.

There is no comparison.

Unique rear quarters too, so a lot of money spent on press tools specifically for Type R.

As for the “delete the rear wing” comments, I suspect it isn’t there just for show.

Hey man, that's your opinion and that's cool. We all like different things, it's what makes the world such an interesting place!!

The black box with 'Type R' on below the engine cover - could this be some form of active cooling?

We are all waiting to see what this is! For only 10 bhp and 10 lb/ft torque increase, honda could have easily saved huge cost and given the ecu a tiny tickle. But, in true geeky honda fashion, they have reworked the intake, replaced the turbo, new exhaust, so wondering how different the drive will feel while its hopefully addressed some overheating issues on track in hotter climates.

i really like it apart from the spoiler looking bolted on, id rather see a large spoiler look like its apart of the boot, and the exhaust looks rubbish, old school big purple tipped big bore wouldve been good lol.

There is quite a decent walkaround and particularly interior vid on YouTube from Hondapro Jason. At around 7:05 you can see the startup while looking at the dash. I might be wrong but it looks like Honda have gone back to having actual bright LED shift lights like they did in the FK2, rather than the rendered LCD ones in the FK8. This little thing makes me way happier than it should!

As a serial Type R owner I am a little underwhelmed by it in pictures , maybe better in the metal. Not sure where the writer got the Michelin PS4 reference from, FK8 had Conti SP6 as standard - PS4S probably better though the conti is pretty good.
But the FK8 looks serious , gets loads of positive attention, really. It’s also superb - the best hot hatch there has ever been - hopefully FL5 is at least as good
I think the Sportline came on the PS4s

The Conti seemed to suit the Civic

Some reasonable dynamic footage from Honda's EU media site:

Mute your sound (you were warned!)

The phrase is obligatory on any thread about bespoilered or modified cars, didn't you know that? smile
