Still a milk float with milk float handling one would suspect. Worthless after 3-4 years no doubt like most EV's.
Who wants a IPhone after 3-4 yrs .....you've got to be pretty bonkers to even PCP these cars as when the time comes to trade it in there's no to little equity as my friend recently found out trading in his ID3. The supplying dealer didnt want it back!
Is it a teacher training day? Kids off, so up late?
Majority of your posts is just you being a d*ck to people and trashing threads.

On the Porsche Panamera thread you are implying someone is an alcoholic because you disagree with them.

Chill out man it’s cars!

Please show me where I can get one of these worthless EVs? I'd like a Tesla.
Autotrader is littered with EV's that have lost more than 55% in under 3 yrs. Just for example there are stacks of Audi Q4's VW ID4/5 with over 55% loss in under 3 yrs. Let's not even look at others such as Porsche & AudI GT.
We all know many that have been rapid charged in company car use will have harmed the battery similar to our mobiles etc but if you buy a used 3 yr old ID4/5 what are the batteries going to be like at 6-7 yrs old. The car really will be worthless throw away objects.
They may be a cheap run about but I can't see the vast majority buying these cars as the go to long distance do it all vehicle.
It will be decades before we can produce enough electric to switch millions of road users over and install enough charging stations across the country. Can't see it happening personally.

As for Tesla the nearest dealer is an hour away in Bristol.....what a load of hassle if you have an accident or need the car serviced there's nobody locally that's touch Tesla's.

The transition to electric cars has always been a multi-decade thing, so I’m not sure what point you are trying to make.
Also, I’d redo the maths that says we won’t have enough electricity.
A million EVs adds less than 1% additional load onto the grid…

It will drop like a stone in value like all EVs.
Like all EVs? Are you an expert on the market then?

Looking on AT, 3-4 year old examples seem to be worth roughly 50% of their original list price, and ID.3s have pretty much always had discounts, either via PCP contributions and/or government grants. To me that seems like fairly ordinary depreciation, or am I wrong?
No, no, no you're getting it all wrong. When an ICE vehicle loses 50% of its value in the first three years it's perfectly normal; when an EV does it's "dropping like a stone" and makes the idea of buying one completely crazy.
Ive seen comparisons with similar aged Golfs, and in comparison the Golfs held their value much, much better and with higher miles?
So, whilst Im no expert I do watch the market, and yes you are wrong but I did love how triggered you both were- hey, crack on hope you enjoy your throw away cars.

Triggered? I replied to your post...

Do you have links to these "comparisons", and maybe then we can carry on the conversation like adults, rather than resorting to embarrassing comments like "crack on hope you enjoy your throw away cars". rolleyes

PS. Please please don't come back with a link to a Geoff Buys Cars video biglaugh

I'm delighted there are opinions like yours out there...

... If there are enough of you, it suppresses EV values and I can buy a better one for my money hehe

There are a very few ICE cars with knackered engines that need replacing at great cost when a car is 6-7 years old. The chances of that happening to a 6-7 year old EV are probably less, and you can replace individual cells rather than the whole battery.

I'm not a massive fan of how Tesla does things but that's okay: there are literally dozens of companies out there that overcome that problem by not being Tesla. wink

They're definitely not perfect but there's a lot to commend EVs in many cases.

You did seem a bit offended to be honest! Whats wrong with the Geoff buys cars videos? I also follow The Macmaster, who runs a Taycan and points out the negatives and positives (Pun not intended) in the real world.

That was £120k a couple of years ago, and Porsche wouldnt even have it back now he wants to go back to an IC car.
He has been offered in some cases less than £30k.
I work in the motor trade, and the number of people saying they do not work is insane and the costs involved are vast.
There are paramedics using older hybrid i3s, because the newer fully electric ones havent got enough range or chargers. Councils spending £170k buying and converting Peugeot Boxer style minibuses to electric that are either broken down or the chargers faulty, so they carry on using the old Merc Sprinter diesels. An already crippled NHS is investing half a billion in electric ambulances, with a top speed of 56 mph supposedly. They are estimated to last 5-6 years! The post office is been pressured to buy E vans, so instead of cheap little diesel french vans they get for a few £k new, they are buying Vitos which will again only last a few years given the use and abuse they get, at a cost of near £40k! Its expected to push them under. I could go on and on, i just hear so many negative comments. A part time firefighter colleague says many in the fire dept would like to see them banned given the speed at which they can flare up in an accident, or even days later after an accident randomly. Ive a friend at Bentley who tells me a little bit of insider info.
Massive question mark over the Luton airport fire also. They just arent for me.
