Tony I think that might just back flip the porsche into the house. You'll need the porsche completely on the plank not just the front.

Other than that. Looks good.

Right I think I've got it....

We might need to sacrifice MechEng, but the car will come out.

We can all predict diag(4), but I think it needs to be shown explicitly.

Surely the easiest solution is for somebody to hop a train into London, get the keys and pop back? Can't take too long from Staines?

Eeeh gads!! The bloody MechEng could have done that for about £5!! Aside from failed attempts at moving the mercedes he's had nothing else to do all day! I'll find out if there's time but I think two-jack plan is about to go into operation.

While at McDonalds stealing plastic trays, find a couple of dodgy looking chavs and tell them that if they can break into Merc without damaging it you'll buy them a burger and give them a ride in the Porsche....

You could Set Fire to the Merc... call the Police. Get it recovered, then claim back off Insurance?

Hmmm not got a large HD one to play with, just a small size one.

I think I should prolly list what we've got to play with.

One guy who is a Mechanical Engineer but knows nothing about cars (only passed his test last week)
A small trolley jack
A 500kg engine hoist
A large selection of spanners and sockets
About 4 crates of Kronenburg (useful for making MechEng work)
No keys - car is in Park, handbrake is off
WD40
LM grease
Contents of kitchen (girls might dissaprove of kitchen utensil use)
Having a st day but this thread has really cheered me up.

Good luck.

I'm now out of contact with all parties. I think something bad may have happened, something like diagram 4 multiplied 3 times.

I am slightly concerned that in your My Cars listing the Merc is now under the previously owned section yikes

Serious answer time:

Available here: http://www.hss.com/g/70223/2t-Wide.html

Should do the trick! Might even be able to borrow one from you local supermarket in exchange for beer!

I thought diagram 4 might make MechEng not agree to it, so left it out biggrin

Success!! A combination of three men, some lubrication and an M5 moved the merc about 2 inches. Then we decided that the gap WAS big enough so with some careful spotting and a almost trading paint on the wall to the left and merc to the right to 944 crept out!! It was all about the couple of extra inches biggrin

Hurrah!

How many blokes does it take to lift a Merc & how far its the local pub ?

(Beer may be required as some sort of bribe.)

Equally if the Merc is too heavy / not enough blokes around: how many blokes does it take to lift a Porsche over a Merc.!?
