I like it. Compared to some of the tat we see this is actually quite pleasing. It puts to shame the miriad of stoopid student designs. This lad has at least put his money where his mouth is and dun it.
He needs to get a nice bird on top of it for the photos though!

That is his bird, she's an Iranian supermodel named Akmary. Apparently this is the only photo of her without her berka. He needs to get a nice bird on top of it for the photos though!

Just shows what you can do in your shed.

Err thats pretty obviously a V8 engine, not a V12 and an automatic??
To be fair the exterior is nowhere near as bad as most of the dodgy replicas of Ferraris and I suppose at least the engine is in the right spot and it looks relatively proportionate, but that interior doesn't look to be shaping up too well.
No it isnt a V8 as theres clearly 6 cylinders on each side! take another look at the photo. To be fair the exterior is nowhere near as bad as most of the dodgy replicas of Ferraris and I suppose at least the engine is in the right spot and it looks relatively proportionate, but that interior doesn't look to be shaping up too well.

Before you go posting drivle at least think about what you are saying...
Because the pictures have changed - it originally showed the V8 from where he sourced the gearbox. Before you go posting drivle at least think about what you are saying...

Yes. NOW. ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
When the story went up and those comments were made, the only engine pic was of the Audi V8 that donated its transaxle.
The pics were updated.

ITs a v12 ,bmw did make 12 cylinder motors,if you count the air inlets theres six a side, sorted.
Well done you. To all the people who criticise this I say get forward and show us how you would have done it better. I wait to see it with a coat of paint, I think it is great back yard engineering. Whatever engine or whether it's auto or manual he deserves a pat on the back and kudos for getting stuck in there and coming out the other end with a decent result.
It's a really good effort. However, i still want to see this carbon tubbed one, discussed in the kit car forum... I guess the F1 design is old enough now that replica's could be made on a commercial scale without fear of copyright infringement. Either that, or it must be close now, right? I would not be surprised if a few more don't surface soon.
As to all those who KEEP Going on about the V8/ V12 engine... Please read the thread. Do you think no one would have spotted/ mentioned that in the last 6 pages?

Wow. What a fantastic effort.
The car looks very good in the pictures. Its a talent to be able to make a car that good in what looks to be a normal garage set up.
If only all replica kits looked as good.
Well done to the man, he is obviously gifted. It would be nice to see that car next to an original F1. Maybe Flemke will offer the world a direct comparison, side by side ?

I really have to take my hat of to this guy / these guys.
On Jalopnik you can see the vast amount of work that has done into these scratch built "replicas".There are at least 2, one V12 One V8.
The number of man hours and the amount of perseverence that has gone into these is mind boggling.especially when you look at the workshop they are in, you couldn't get further from the clinical environment the originals were created in.
They appear to have been built with a great deal of ingenuity and plain old hard work, and the engineering is sound, not whimsical, built stoutly, on a budget, but no corners cut. I love the cars and can't understate my admiration and respect for the creators.
