What was the first car you saw that burnt into your memory?
Discussion
One of these
It was Brand New and the owner kept it on the road, parked outside the church in Usk, Gwent.
I used to cycle past it on the way to School every morning, it was 1982 and I was 7.
Loved them ever since, the 288GTO is my favourite car and I think this 308 has a lot to do with that.

Oh..I so wanted one of these when 'I were a lad!'
Me too, in the early eighties where we grew up, someone round the corner had a white one, i will have been about 7 or 8 probably and it was the first car to stick in my mind. Never have owned one but remember being offered loads of them when i first started driving, all for peanuts and nearly bought one a few years ago just before the prices rocketed, £1500 for a genuine one lady owner signal red model. Bummer. The earliest memory I have is probably of my dads BMW 5 series, it was broken into and had the keyhole drilled out to gain entry. I can remember clearly not wanting to get into the passenger side due to the damage on the door.
Land Rover Series 1 made the biggest impact, I cant remember why or how as my parents are not into Land Rovers - It was specifically the series 1 that got my attention when I was about 4. I remember having loads of videos and books on Land Rovers. Guess I was about 8/9 went to the Heritage Motor Centre to have a ride in a Defender round the offroad course. Still think the Series 1 looks great, as do the Defenders simple and purposeful.

Jag XJ6 Series 1. Our neighbour had one back when they were new.
Apparently as a toddler I would sit for hours in the summer on their drive just staring at it.
To this day I can remember the grey paint, my reflection in the hub caps, the big deep silver grille and dark red leather interior.
He traded it in for an S Class (I think) when I was about 5. I liked the car, but never loved it like the Jag.
A couple of years ago, a neighbour bought a Series II Daimler Coupe. Immaculate in racing gree. It had the same mezmorizing effect on me. Foun myself staring out of the upstairs window at it.
After all that, you'd think I'd buy one. Perhaps one day.

THe first car I fell in love with - I would watch Knight Rider religiously on Saturday mornings, 8am reruns on Channel 5's 'Milkshake'. I used to have to watch it in my parents' room as it was the only TV in the house to get Channel 5! I really hope to own an '82 Firebird one day!
My dad used to travel the country a lot too, and would always bring me back Bburago models I believe the first one was a Ferrari F50!
Dad also continues to ignite my love for cars, recounting his countless tales of his adventures at Wooler Hodec. Awesome stuff

My Dad had one of these - Silver over Maroon (with whitewall tyres). It's the first car I can remember, so it's burnt into my memory. I would have been about four.
Me too! Reg was 536EKD and he sold to a bloke in the pub for a fiver. Colour was grey over dark blue and holes appeared in the middle of every panelgetting picked up from play-group in this. the blue was a lighter shade and think is also I think why I like my favourite cars in blue.
The other one was my dad's mate who worked for honda - I loved the pop up headlights & cool rear lights on the NSX and the 4 wheel steering of the prelude. Ah well 2 out of 3 ain't bad...
