Great, a Ferrari for the family, Kids in the back dog in the boot and lets go skiing!!!!
Where this fails, is that at +/-£200k, any prospective owners (im guessing), will own luxury estates / 4x4s with REAL seating for 4 and a proper boot.
If you want a new Ferarri it is a 3rd or 4th (or 5th, 6th....) car and does not need to fullfill practical demands of an everyday car / family wagon.
HOWEVER, I will eat my hat (and shoes and everything else I own) if Ferrari market it as an every day car at say under £100k, then that practicality and 4x4 is totally justified!!! Not bloody likely.
Perhaps true for buyers of a new car but secondhand there could be a good market. I've come close to buying a used Ferrari a few times but since my daughter was born I can't justify a two-seater. That only left the 456, which I really like (but I was worried about resale potential), or the 612 (which is too big and too ugly). This FF could make sense...although when push comes to shove I'll no doubt bottle out and buy another 911!Where this fails, is that at +/-£200k, any prospective owners (im guessing), will own luxury estates / 4x4s with REAL seating for 4 and a proper boot.

This may go against a lot of opinions, but looks-wise I hate it!
Then again, maybe it'll be the Ford Sierra of the teenees, which I also hated but then came to be able to tolerate...
And I don't like the idea of Ferrari going 4WD, it shows they're no longer true to their purist roots. 4 seats are ok, providing the rear 2 are totally impractical and compromised entirely for asthetics!
So it's the most unFerrari-est Ferrari they've done yet, worse than the recent California. I fear they may have lost the plot.
The 458 is devine, so I can't work out what they're doing...
And while I'm very aware I'll probably never be able to afford any of them, the whole point of Ferraris is that you love them and dream of having one particularly when that dream is out of reach. I'm afraid that's no longer the case...

Take another look at the side profile- there is NO WAY that is going to be comfortable in the back- the rear seats will be wedged between the rear wheels (which won't be hatchback-narrow...) right above the rear axle and diff. Bloody uncomfortable that will be for any passengers. TAnd that will leave a miniscule boot.
Styling wise, it looks OK, but does scream BMW breadvan.
I can't see who would buy one- for the reasons already pointed out on the thread- if you can afford one of these, you could also afford a proper luxury estate car and a 458.

No doubt this will also be a huge commercial success
At £250k? I am not so sure. All the modern V12's lose a fortune in resale value, especially the 4 seaters, unlike the V8's which in percentage terms have always held their money really well.
The people who buy these new only buy them if they can really afford to lose a lot of money. Totally different customer to the people who buy V8's, and much fewer of them.

if I pointed out how it looks like an Z Coupe or a Reliant Scimitar it would show
a) I really know my car design
b) I have seen the classic lines
c) I haven't read the article
?
although I am surprised they also appeared to have borrowed the wheel design from the Z3M too

Forgive me for not having read the last 6 pages, but I'm in a rush:
Most people I've spoken to expected Ferrari to do a Cayenne style vehicle at some point, so the fact that their practical 'family' follows on the footsteps of unarguably sporty 'parctical' cars such as the Reliant GTE, Jensen FF, Vovo P1800 ES and Z3 Coupé should be welcomed! Excellent way to get your labra-doodle to 208 mph!
Also, I've just remembered the 456 Venice for the Sultan of Brunei, in my opinion one of the best looking estate cars ever. Slightly reminiscent of that too...

The latest available sales figures show that Ferrari sold a total of 6250 new cars including all models worldwide in the year.
So how many of these might they sell bearing in mind it is likely to be their most expensive series production long term model.Indeed you have to ask how many per year do they need to sell to pay back the investment and go in to profit and will they do so with this car ?

Didn't the article say 450-800 litres capacity. A VW Golf only has 400 litres, so 450 litres seats-up is actually pretty good.As for who - see my post before - this is aimed squarely at Russia and China (oh, and of course the Arab world - what self-respecting Sheikh wouldn't want to take his Ferrari off-roading???

This looks like the Citroen C-Metisse Concept.
