Unfortunately, it does mean people driving up your arse to take photos or looking at you (side by side) and not the road to get a quick snap while they're driving.

I commute on the M25, so seeing that is always worrying.

Yes, I get that too. Motorways aren't fun so I try to avoid them. But when I do use them I generally stay left and stick to 65ish. It's scary when everything else is at least three times bigger than you, and clearly not looking where it's going!
I gently tap the brakes if someone comes alongside and the driver isn't looking forwards. It happens a lot, about once every 10 miles or so on a busy motorway.

Universal positive attention in my Camaro - kids in particular seem to give it the thumbs up smile

My (mostly) daily driver gets a lot of attention.

It generally gets positive attention, everyone smiles and takes photos.
It doesn't (appear) to create jealousy like some higher-end stuff would.

And I thought driving on the M1 in a Caterham was butt-clenchingly scary! Chapeau to you, Sir.

This one got quizzical looks but virtually no one had any idea as to what it was. and most didn't like the looks anyway:-

I'll be surprised if many here know it either.

Not my own car, but the most attention I ever got was in a Impreza Turbo Terzo(it was blue with gold wheels). Literally everyone looked at me in that for some reason, and it attracted far more attention than any of the cars that I'd had myself in comparison. I'm guessing that the synonymous noise that it made added to it as well.

It's funny really, I bought it on a bit of a whim just before COVID. I never really had any great desire to own a Capri, my Dad had a couple - he was the general manager of a Ford dealer in Feltham in the late 70s - then owned a blue D reg 2.8i a few years later. I was just having a nostalgic search on cars for sale and saw this one on eBay, it was miles away so I took a risk and it actually turned out to be a bit of a gem. All original panels, never welded, no rust and low owners, most of which are unheard of for a Capri. I never really intended to keep it but as I've worked through all the niggles I've got quite attached to it so whilst it's not exactly 'the car I always promised myself' I'll probably keep it for a while

I had a black 2.8i for several years in the 80s. Was a good, comfortable, pretty practical car which never had any mechanical issues.

The Capri is a really odd car for me. thought nothing of them in the eighties and yet now I really see the beauty in them. beautiful balance of curves and straight lines. not so much nostalgia as a revelation. and a blue 2.8 Injection is the daddy.

BMW designers could do with taking a look for inspiration.

lol, I had one in 1984 and the 4 speed before that. I was Capri mad and owned five the last being a Tickford.

It helped that I grew up next to the Fords Main office in Warley Brentwood.

Only had this 5 weeks and already had several chats in car parks / petrol stations about it with strangers.
One negative is that I’ve already had an X3M, M2 and a Merc cab right up my chuff clearly trying to egg me on.

I’m too old for that st.

The Stelvio QV I had before it garnered zero response from anyone…

Great car !

My daily is a grey golf gti which doesn't get any attention but the very very rare comment. My clio 200 again I'm not sure anyone has ever shown any interest other than sometimes at a track day. Actually I now remember getting the thumbs down from guys in fiesta st's, I guess its a bit of a thing...

The only car I owned that did get attention was my mr2 turbo, people beeping or trying to race you or sometimes in the street coming and asking about it. There was a lot more of that towards the end of my ownership in 2018.

Suits me fine

My second car was a new 1973 Capri. We called it the "Poor man's" BMW 2002. I enjoyed the car until 1978 when I got my new Datsun 280Z. The Capri still looks handsome today.

Never seen one being driven so I would absolutely bend your ear about it if I saw you getting out. Such a great looking car.

First drive out this year during the Easter bank holiday. All positive attention with several thumbs ups and waves etc.

The only people that drive these cars are enthusiasts now. The “yobbo’s and chavs” don’t even know what an Impreza is anymore.
