RE: PHers To Get Up To 15% Insurance Discount With Flux
Discussion
I took out a Policy on the 20/03/2012 with Adrian Flux, costing £405.
If i cancel it now, less than a month later they are only going to give me £180 back.
I checked my Insurance policy which is with Markerstudy, they say they take 25% If cancelled within the first month, so that still leaves around £120 going to Flux.

Amazed at how many people seemingly don't understand insurance. If the quote is uncompetitive they don't want your business. They don't seriously anticipate that you will pay that figure, they just anticipate you will ps off to someone who caters for your profile more adequately.
I fully understand that and in fact got told by another insurance company "we can't get anywhere near your other quote, but try us again when you come to renew and we'll do our best to help". To me, that's the way a company should be run and I will try call them again next year as their customer service was brilliant.GFWilliams said:
Just got quoted £1202 by another insurer and thought I'd check with Adrian Flux to see what they can offer.
Well apparently it's a "highly competitive" provisional rate. about 5 times more than the other quote
I'd be surprised if anyone will beat an Admiral quote available on confused for that car at your age. Well apparently it's a "highly competitive" provisional rate. about 5 times more than the other quote
That said when I had my MX5 I was 21 and it was covered by LV who we still use but not for my car. They provide substantially better cover but can't match Admiral on price.

Hello we have a couple of young drivers schemes but they are quite particular as to what sort of risk they will insure. I can certainly have a look for you. Please can you fill in the details below and pm them to me I will get a price for you. The cheapest cars to insure for younger drivers tend to be old style minis. Like a mini city 1.0 for example. They are good fun cars and very economical and cheap to maintain however they would not be the safest car in the world. Other cars to consider would be the more usual small hatchbacks and get the smallest engine possible. Saxo, Fiesta, 206, punto etc.
Thanks
Ash

Just wondering if you got my email. I sent it three or four days ago but haven't yet had a reply.
Cheers.

My renewal came through this week for my C2 Code at roughly £1050, did a quick gocompare which brought up the cheapest result of £900 with Admiral. Just received a quote from Adrian Flux of £4414!
Hi Matt. Sounds like we must have something down on file wrong if admiral is quoting £900 and we are quoting £4414.
The quote you received from us, was it done over the internet or was it one our underwriting team has had a chance to have a look at properly over the telephone ?
By all means PM me your full name and postcode and we can have a look.
Not thrilled about the fact that I have had a 15% penalty applied to both my policies with AF following disclosre of an SP30. I have had to pay £131, which I feel is a heavy addition to the fine and points. I had a clean licence but now with 3 points. It is the first time in a 23 year driving career that I have been stung for having 3 points. Any comments from other PH members? I am with Trinity Lane through AF. Best bit is I had just renewed my policy on my Westfield, giving AF the news and paying the premium only to get an email a week later with this charge.

Most insurance companies don't usually put much weight on 3points for speeding, and others up to 6points worth of SP30's make little difference to the overall quote.Sounds to me like the usual insurance rip off.
Is it Trinity Lane putting up the premium by that much or in fact they aren't putting it up by that much and AF are bumping up the cost more than it really is as a way to more profits.
I cannot believe some of the nonsense quotes posted on this thread that AF come up with. I regularly read this thread and often PMSL at some of the figures.
Talk about having your pants pulled down!!

It was an internet quote. Do you think it would be worth while phoning to get another?

Af tell me it is Trinity Lane. I'm going to dig our the documents and Ts &Cs and check. I do think it is excessive. I would be interested to hear what Ash has to say. Funnily enough I haven't asked for the 15% discount, so maybehe could get it applied retrospectively and keep this customer..Sounds to me like the usual insurance rip off.
