The same cosworth they were using in the first place with a sticky label that sayes jaguar?
unlikely...

why would you use a bespoke, expensive, fragile obsolete F1 engine over an off-the-shelf OEM production engine?
As that is what the very expensive gearbox was designed for
I'm afraid the very expensive gearbox will soon be a very expensive paperweight.
it's a sign of good management when a project realises it's got to take another route even when so much has been put into the initial plan rather than carry on regardless.

Out of interest, with an OEM engine and it's more sedate operating RPM's, do you still need a gearbox? (what shaft speed does the pump need?)

Pump impeller speed is 11,000 so they will need a step up gearbox

Maybe they can get the old one and mount it the wrong way round

Now what engine are you using to drive the fuel pump?
Have a guess! Shouldn't be difficult to work out........
The same cosworth they were using in the first place with a sticky label that sayes jaguar?
Although, slightly ironically, the Cosworth F1 engine they were going to use has it's roots in the V10 engine designed by Cosworth for the Stewart, then Jaguar F1 team....... Funny old world ain't it ;-)

I would imagine it would be a lot easier to just get a slightly bigger diameter impeller for the HTHP pump than mess around with gear boxes etc!

I am just finishing the car pump design, having re-designed the test pump. Our original pump from a previous supplier was around 25% efficient, the new one is around 60-65% efficient, supplies enough flow & pressure at 10500 rpm for our year two rocket, so for year one we simply turn the engine revs down.

There are runway wheels with rubber tyres for that sort of testing. When they were made, there was specific reference to "UK runway testing" on them

Upper chassis is nearly finish riveting now, it's that time when the whole team get called down so everyone has a go at setting a rivet.
