The "Sh*t Driving Caught On Dashcam" Thread

She hadn't been driving long, had already rear ended a Beemer, (her sister worked where I did, and I got this from her), she broke a nail, and boasted at college that's all she did.
Imagine that in rush hour, total carnage. The only defence was that the slip road had no "No entry" signs on, it does now, even so, what a tit.
The link said "The car then crashes head-on into the front of another lorry on the northbound lane of the dual carriageway.", no it didn't crash head on, she wouldn't have walked away from that. She owes her life to the trucker who swerved out of her way.

Sounds like the Insurers need to do their job and price her off the roads. One truck and possible load, another HGV damaged, highways costs, recovery costs - must be a £100k claim.Imagine that in rush hour, total carnage. It wasn't completely her fault
Yes it was.![](http://thumbsnap.com/sc/180ukVEt.jpg)
Last time we looked at it, if you follow previous instructions to keep to the right hand side of this carriageway to head north you end up going up the off slip and finding the previously mentioned truck.
yes it's unlikely now
(but still not impossible if you're determined)
Don't they normally arrange slips so it cant happen?

I drove past that junction daily for two years and always managed to go the correct way! It's not (or wasn't) that confusing.
If it's ok with you, I'll credit you with a few more brain cells than the driver brought to book ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
I am not defending her, just saying.

And they're out to get you.
There have been a few incidents on the M65 in my local area of people going the wrong way for miles. It's not easy because of the way sliproads are angled to join going the wrong way, but I don't understand what possesses people to keep driving when they see stuff coming at them.

Explain, not sure what you mean, what previous instructions? Just curious.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Has anyone else driven along what they thought was one side of one of those dual carriageways with the two directions separated by some countryside, only to think - uh oh it's not a dual carriageway

People will come to this junction and turn left into oncoming traffic. I've seen a guy do it and everybody coming up the dual carriageway flash their headlights at him and him stop his car and get out to look at the front of it thinking they're telling him something is wrong with his car.

A lot more signage and road markings have been installed since. We share the roads with new drivers who don't entirely know what they're doing, elderly drivers who are a bit past it and people who just aren't that bright, so everything needs to be idiot proofed.
Not strictly dash cam, but definitely s
t driving. Regardless of what you think of the cyclist, the driver needs to be taken off the road IMHO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2F22aRbEBI

What I don't understand is, why film these drivers and put them on YT ?
Why not just take the footage to the police if it's dangerous driving ?
Also, when buying a car should I check the reg through YT just incase it's a idiot drivers car.
Well if they didn't this thread would be far shorter and give the resident public conduct police little to bicker about! Why not just take the footage to the police if it's dangerous driving ?

This is a similar one on a road in Colne not far from where I live. The woman with the camera is in convoy with the driver of the orange TT when someone comes up on the outside in an Insignia.

The issue with people using the right hand lane to "queue jump" and go straight on has become so heated the police have been stationing officers at this junction at every morning rush hour and apparently it is going to be altered to stop this happening. The Google Earth image is here so you can see the road layout. The drivers are going from the M65 junction to where the BMW garage is.

It's always a bonus when you film 2 dhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAzku3R_6FQ

The camera car was with the TT so rather than suggesting it drops back out of the argument, pours petrol on the fire with we've got it all on video and try harder.

I'm actually more shocked (but not surprised) by the aggressive driving of those that presumably feel that they are the ones 'in the right' in quite a few of the examples posted lately.
Drive defensively and with a smidge of common sense and half of these 'incidents' would never have escalated in the first place. I know it's annoying when a driver intentionally muscles their way through, but you've just got to let it go, it's not realistically going to add any time on to your journey and it's certainly not worth getting stressed about.
I guess it's the British queuing mentality (and the reason merge in turn just doesn't work in this country).
On my previous commuting route a guy in an old Merc would (often dangerously) overtake 4 or 5 cars at a time on a very narrow country road, flat-out straight line roundabouts without indicating to pass a few more cars etc etc. Same time every day so plenty of commuters got wise to it and often people would close up gaps when he was overtaking. Yes he was immensely frustrating and a bit dangerous, and no the police were unlikely to be able to do a great deal, but closing gaps...? The consequences (including for the innocent driver coming the other way) of actually achieving what they were hoping to do by shutting him out were unthinkable.
