Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 10]
Discussion
It'll be good to meet you and mcrackenj there harrykul. By 'no barge', do you mean you'll turn up in something Ferrari-shaped?
I think it's all looking good for the meet. 10 or so have formally signed-up, but there were quite a few additional folk that just turned-up to the last one, so hopefully there'll be a decent crowd and some varied cars to gawp at.
Top tip for the parsimonius amongst us, but there is a small discount on Museum ticket prices if booked online in advance. I reckon I've saved enough for a litre of super-unleaded and a packet of mints.

Nice little mini-barge on ebay here. Seller is a lovely chap too *cough*

That does look like a nice little mini-barge, but the advert is a lttle thin and most buyers would prefer to see more than 5 months MOT on it at that price I think. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/222096593769?ul_ref=http%3...
The hoover stripes in the boot will set the OCD crowd off.

I agree that they are different, but I was surprised just how many car meets, and how much car interest, there is in France. Which city are you going to?
I found a fantastic one by accident when I lived there before, one of the guys who was attending had a mint W124 500E!I'm living in a tiny place called Castellar, and working in Monaco. Or at least I am for the first few months, I'm just going out there and seeing what happens really. My Jag will be accompanying me, naturally.

Great news, congratulations.
I hope it works out - it really is a lovely part of the world, and a Jag will fit right in down there.
Thanks! It's a great area for barges - I think the climate keeps them in better condition. I'll be sure to post up a few pictures of any particularly nice ones I see.I hope it works out - it really is a lovely part of the world, and a Jag will fit right in down there.

Any updates on the meet next week? Booked the ferry for mccrackenj and myself. No barge though...
Very exciting! All are of course welcome. As per the sign up page we're set to meet at midday at The Lakeland Motor Museum on Sunday 1st, take a look at the cars then grab some tea and take a look about the museum (tickets available here as CDG says!). It should be a relaxed affair as always, and there are no plans beyond that, though I'd suggest a drive after if this is convenient, as it's a nice part of the country.
It should be good fun. PS looking on the website I remember that they have a few dream 0-5k thread retro/classics in there as well
Can't see a Moroccan X300 on 16" lattices with 51000 miles for £1500 hanging around for very long.

Based on ferry times, our eta will be about 12.30. Looking forward to seeing you all!

What other details would bargists like to see in the advert? The vendor is clearly not a seasoned car seller!
As for the OCD crowd, they can bugger off. It's been wet vaxed so there!

My word that's really quite something. An utter bargain if it's as good as it looks. Expect to see it up for three times the place after a detail! It has only done 10k miles in the last 10 years.I really like mercs from this era in solid colours and early bodywork.
3x3 plates are the only private registrations I like too.
I didn't see the paperwork as the place was closed but it looked like a genuine motor, it still had the hospital car park permit in the windscreen.
Would a replacement seat cover be available from Mercedes?

I very much doubt it, but it looks like the fabric is still available, and a good trimmer could make one up - sure beats the "teachers' leather patches" we have seen on some 124s!http://cabrio.de/khm/en/meterage-upholstery

I think this is the cheapest facelift E65 750i I've ever seen

What is the score with the MOT history there? Is it because of the private plate. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...
Lovely car but seems almost too cheap to be true.

Just for the record, a question for anyone here has had a BMW or Jag with this style of wheel. Am I right to assume that they are an absolute nightmare to keep clean, or is there some trick I don't know about? I've always avoided them for that reason, though they do look pretty.Lowtimer said:

Never, ever again. Must have taken 3-4 hours per wheel, all told. My fingers ached for a week. Some things you should have a go at doing yourself, others you should always pay someone else to do. This is one of the latter.

The local Polish gritty sponge emporium always got them clean too, and never whinged or charged me extra.
