RE: PHers To Get Up To 15% Insurance Discount With Flux
Discussion
Hi Ash from Adrian Flux
this year my insurance was extortionate, which at my age with my kind of car is to be expected. I am thinking of selling my car and one of the biggest factors is I don't want to be paying that kind of money next year. certainly not for an old golf.
my question to you is as I am getting married at the end of the year, and I will have a extra years no claims. Whether you could give me a rough estimate or idea if this is likely to change anything? if it helps my reg is A5 VWR
I appreciate you cant see into the future. but an idea of what happens if things stay the same would be a massive help and might be the difference between me selling my car and not.
Thanks Andy

Hi Ash,
Had my renewal through and it has gone up, I have since put through a fresh quote and it is still coming out more than conf***d, having been with flux for two years with two year ncb this doesn't seem quite right, please could you have a look and see if you can do anything, also what do I need for the 15% discount to see how much that brings it down by.
Cheers
Rich

If we haven't given you any owners club or Pistonheads discount allready I will let the renewals team know and they can apply the discount. If you could please pm me your name and post code I can get them to have a look at your quote.
Thank you
Ash
Thought I'd just mention your policy of sending through an inflated quote with the promise of automatic renewal just lost you a customer. Lucky for me I had to change my card this year.
I utterly hate that practice and I've found a better policy which is 30% less than your inflated quote.

Sorry to lose you as a customer. We only automatically renew policies if we don't hear from a customer (after we have sent a renewal reminder at least 2 weeks before the due date). That way there is no risk that they are driving around uninsured if they didn't realise there insurance was due. If you wanted to try us again next year then feel free to PM me some details and I'll have a look at the premiums myself. I hit a pot hole in my car recently, I've got 3 years ncb. I took it to the garage and they said it could be up to £5k to repair. so I got my insurers involved.
In the end it was only like £600, which I paid myself. so I don't lose my NCB.
But now when I do quotes and list a £0, it pushes up my insurance quotes by like £400.
What gives ? Is Flux better with these sorts of things?

You are doing the correct thing. It needs to be listed as and accident but no claim made. I'm not sure if you are doing the quotes online or over the phone but you would be better off calling up for quotes so you can give the clerk the exact information. It would depend on all of your details and depending on what company we use that suits you best. Some of our insurers may load for it but some will not. If you want me to have a look at a quote for you feel free to PM me the information below and I will have a look at it for you.
Thanks
Ash
