Oooh a show-off thread I'd never noticed.

I am lucky enough to drive this 450SLC which gets loads of attention, all of it good-natured. I very often return to a car park to see someone peering inside or taking a photograph which is fair enough as it seems impossible to take a bad one of it:

2013 Granturismo sport. Gets a decent amount of attention. Mostly positive, especially kids for some reason. Good few folk want a chat at petrol stations etc too. Unfortunately I also get the odd souped up hot hatch that wants to race which gets tiring after a while.

We also have a 2018 Swift, which is an anonymous bland Japanese machine, perfect for the city.
I had a black GTS and it got a lot of positive attention.

Having this in red, definitely stands out.

It gets attention sometimes the wrong type of attention. My old 340i was a head turner in sunset orange

How much of that is actual Capri ?
The shell is a 1.6 Laser, that's about it. Panels all Carbon Fibre, 32V Cobra V8, Tractive Sequential, E46 M3 CSL Front Legs, E90 M3 Rear smile

Well, that's a bit serious!

Definitely worthy of a reader's cars thread, imo yes

Fully agree your assessment. wink

Funnily enough, just the other day some friends here, in the US, were asking about the Figaro. There's now a fairly large dealer that specializes in importing them and sorting them for US spec.

A couple of years ago, it was less of a turnkey affair, but you could source a decent example for the equivalent of £10,000 or so. Then, the Figaro became a bit of a sensation in some circles -- and now prices are upwards of the equivalent of £40,000. Insane arbitrage opportunity.

Bizarrely, KIa EV6 a fair bit of attention. If I've been parked up someone will ask what's it like, what's the real world range etc. Always positive.

When I first got it erm the traffic light GP was a giggle.

Cayman GTS, had some admiring glances from some young ladies but apart from that, nowt.

This probably stood out a bit from the usual school run 4x4s.
It did get positive comments on my landy groups.
Otherwise, don’t think anyone cared.. hehe
A Labour of love to own at times.

Generic silver suv.
Zero interest from anyone which I like.
Run out top spec model so loaded with kit.
The most reliable car I’ve owned, zero hassle, zero issues.
100% faith in it.

Lol, great thread, I remember the first year my youngest when to private school, the car park was full of up market cars, Astons, Ferraris, even that ugly Bentley SUV that had only been available for a couple of weeks.... every kind of up market vehicle you can imagine as all the new starter parents tried to impress each other. We turned up in a 10 year old battered van. Parking it in the gap between two top of the range Range Rovers one of the drivers couldn't open their door and had to climb out from the passenger side.

I'd just got out and the woman (yes a real one) driver came over to me and said "You shouldn't be parking here, this car park is reserved for parents."

To which I replied, "Thank you for letting me know" as my daughter emerged in her uniform then my other two children who were already at the school got out, I said "and as soon as I've dropped my three children off I'll move my van."

I don't care if I get attention or not, I'm confident enough not to need a boost to my ego and anyway, when you have three lots of school fees to pay you'll drive a crap car......

I posted earlier in the thread that I had just bought the first car I have had in years that might stand out a bit (911) but it was still largely anonymous.

Quite surprised then to get 'papped' by two young lads in Bath today

Things soon went back to normal though at the next set of lights when people crossing the road were much more interested in the Ora Funky Cat in front of me, which promptly took off like it's scalded namesake

Usually get some looks, always blokes and a weird demographic of middle aged guys, road men and kids lol

Got a few positive comments about the colour, it’s very metallic and really pops in the sunshine!

This gets positive attention. Very rare for someone not to comment at petrol stops.

Loads of attention. Too much sometimes when parked at pubs, which it tends to be on occasions and will be for the coronation.
