One single thing that makes you think "knob"

A van doesn't have a rear view mirror, a car does. Struggling to understand why people are defending someone who just couldn't be arsed to switch on a wiper. Are you saying you don't use your rear view mirrors then? Surely if its there, its better to use it and be safe, rather then drive round with all your windows covered in snow expect for the windscreen?

Switching on the rear-screen heater would have helped, too!e21Mark said:

how about chatting to your passenger whilst picking your nose, or smoking a faaag, or scratching your balls, etc etc

I never clean the snow off the rear window. I don't need a rear view mirror, I have door mirrors. I've driven enough vans to know how to use them.Robb F said:
Not worth the risk of it potentially being frozen solid and breaking the motor, or at very least damaging the wiper rubber meaning it leaves highly annoying unwiped steaks everywhere.
Also avoid using the rear wiper like the plague as it just scrapes dirt along the glass.
they wouldn't be annoying if you didn't look at them anyway, and even if you broke it, you never use it!Also avoid using the rear wiper like the plague as it just scrapes dirt along the glass.
it takes literally a couple of seconds to wipe a rear screen clear of snow and lift the wiper to see if it is frozen, presumably you are doing the front, sides and mirrors too anyway?
the snow on the car in question looks like a very light dusting of wet snow, the wiper would flick it away in a second
I've been driving vans, trucks and estate cars for years, I know how to observe using side mirrors
If I've got a central rear view, I'll use it, I don't know why anyone wouldn't
I've never had a scratched rear screen from a wiper, I don't think I've ever worn out a rear wiper either

Clearing all windows can also help other motorists "see through" your car (either consciously or not) which can aid overall safety.it takes literally a couple of seconds to wipe a rear screen clear of snow and lift the wiper to see if it is frozen, presumably you are doing the front, sides and mirrors too anyway?

I'd like to nominate Robb F as a knob, for not clearing snow off his car prior to driving anywhere. From your comments, sounds like your the type that clears the windscreen and leaves the rest on headlights, tailights, side windows, roof, bonnet, rear windscreen. Well done.
