Just one poster.
Not just any poster, but the original poster.Go and have a look at who the OP is.
I didn't bring EVs into this thread, I merely responded to the usual diatribe.
I stand by my "just one poster" comment for obvious reasons.

How did a thread on a pure V12 ICE car degenerate into a debate on EVs.

Circuit choice: what other circuits has the Eletre posted a time on?
Road damage: trucks and buses are doing the majority of the damage. Nobody complains about them.
Kerb mass vs dynamics: clearly important for petrol cars, less so for electric cars, particularly SUVs.
Directly comparing/judging the kerb mass of cars with different powertrain types is somewhat pointless.
Probably why Lotus chose to let the whole ‘weight’ thing play itself out after they could demonstrate the effect (or lack thereof) it has on the Eletre’s performance and handling.
How many trucks and buses are there vs cars. What happens when the average weight of cars creeps up by adding very heavy EVs. Potholes near me are like moon craters but I guess just coincidence. Road damage: trucks and buses are doing the majority of the damage. Nobody complains about them.

You can do the sums yourself. Do you not know the formula for relative damage depending on axle weight? TX.

Well, if you talking about existing damage, that can’t be due to just 2-3% of cars.TX.
Cars outnumber trucks 50-1 at least but damage is a function of axle mass to the power of 4.
That means 1 truck does the same damage as thousands or tens of thousands of cars.
I think you would need something like a billion EVs to equal the damage being done by existing trucks and buses.
Given there are only 1 million on the road….
Have you seen an increase in HGV traffic, home deliveries, local deliveries in the last few years?
Have you heard of climate change and what effect that has on road damage?
Have your local council been strapped for cash and generally doing not a lot about it?
If the answer is yes to any or all of those, maybe that might help with the root cause.
Top Gear magazine seem to have got the scoop on the first journalist drive. There’s a detailed, multi-day test across Spain, Andorra and France in the latest issue.
Ollie Marriage clearly adores it and it sounds like it’s a very unique driving experience. One for the purists, as was to be expected from Gordon Murray.

Support your local newsagent, walk down to him, put your money on the counter and say give me one of your lovely Top Gear magazines please.
Jeez.
my local newsagent doesn't sell magazines anymore, they stopped years ago as people simply weren't buying themJeez.
just had a look now though and looks like it can be bought digitally:

One incorrect point I noticed. He states that the T.50 is about 150kg lighter but since the F1's 1,138kg was a kerb weight and the T.50's 997kg is a dry weight then they must be quite similar - the F1 might actually be a bit lighter.

The 997kg is claimed to be a wet weight. https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/gordon-murray-...

No, they up'd the weight figure 2-3 months ago if you look back through this thread a few pages. GMA website now reads, 'remarkably low dry weight of just 997 kg.' Don't get me wrong, that's still a great achievement with modern regs. The press reviews are certainly glowing, but maybe give it six months and let them catch their breath...
I hadn't realised the T50 is only 1850 wide, very refreshing in a world of supercars 200-odd mm wider than that - a real bonus on the road and another virtue afforded by light weight.
