This one might not be a deliberately illegal act, but since a Dutton Sierra uses a chassis, then the ID goes with that, not with the body, so it cannot be sold in the current combination. Pursuading eBay on this one might be a task though, as they'll simply see a complete shell.

Remember to "See other items" to establish whether they're one off people who don't know the law or traders who should know better.

I'd say the latter on this and definitely the SR250
Auction ended early.

I didn't know the Dutton Sierra was originally Morris Minor based. Depending on the chassis it probably weighed the same as my old 600cwt van. wink

Usually Mk1/2 Escort based. Perhaps the early ones were MM?

Not necessarily:

THIS IS MY CAR AND IS NOT ILLEGAL. The logbook and heritage certificate are in my name completely legally mine i am the 4th owner, please write my number down if interested as some jealous idiot ( wavey) keeps reporting this to ebay

There is now a picture and lots of extra new words, including telephone numbers. Those are not allowed either, are they?

This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.

There doesn't seem to be an "Institute of Independent Vehicle Restorers" except on that questionable looking document.....

Sounds like middle men to me. A free report from a DVLA recognised member of an owners club with historical documentation from the manufacturer to back up the vehicles identity is the only way to go.

People worrying about 'incorrect registration' amuses me, particularly where it applies to vehicles registered or built/adapted/converted before the rules were tightened up.

It is hardly a crime. An inconvenience certainly, but not a 'wrong' in any respect.
its isnt a crime using a V5c from another car to make the own one road-legal?

i think it is!!

the majority of the cars being reported here, havent been built or registered b4 the rules where tightened up..the majortiy has a unproven history or had never been correctly registered..

suddenly the cars are sold by dealers or private persons who exactly know how to make profit.

they will use any means to make profit...

the Locust is one of the best examples!!

its a 10001% Locust...a locust which is the only seven exsiting with a ladder frame and plywood body...which also could be easily identified by the cortina front subframe (which was only used on another, much wider and bigger seven: a robinhood)

so why the hell should this dealer acting leagal??

it is a locust, it was always a Locust, it remains a locust, it has a ladder frame, it has a x/flow engine....so what should be Lotus on it???

i tell you: the V5c!!!
