IF the wife thinks she can put two babys in the back of an IQ than i sure as hell can put them in the back of this.
Thanks for posting up the pic of the rear interior
Going to start pestering Toyota and Subaru and play them off against each other to get the best deal
My mrs drove a few of us to the pub n back last night.. me and my mate, both 6ft+ had no issues sat in the back of an IQ! .. seriously. The seats both front and back are thin and narrow which certainly helps. Thanks for posting up the pic of the rear interior

it always surprises me that car, "turns on a dime" aswell.
there wont be any deals from Toyota anyway - certainly not initially. numbers will be limited so why would they discount!?
you may get yourself a good finance deal but that'll be about it.

Now lets see. 28k£ that is about 30kEuro. Without any options. For a Japanese sports car that will change design fundamentaly every 3 years. With a second hand market being almost non existing in mainland Europe. With a depreciation of about 15k after 3 years.
Let me think about that value proposition for a moment...eh no thank you.

Both cars seem like bargain drivers cars for the money. I'll definitely be putting my name down for one.

Like the Toyota GT-86 I think the concept is brilliant.
The price though, as it appears to be £28-30K, fails massively as far as I am concerned.
There was a post yesterday in one of these threads quoting a comment from Toyota's Facebook page, in which Toyota says the £28k is press speculation and they are aiming for a price nearer to £25k.The price though, as it appears to be £28-30K, fails massively as far as I am concerned.
But anyway, what other brand new, RWD, 2+2, 165hp/ton car are you going to buy that makes this car look expensive at £28k?
' ** Newflash ** GBP ain't worth what it was a few years ago (when it was overinflated in any case). This makes imports dearer, dear.

Are they renaming this too? BRZ sounds fairly rubbish. (Bras?)
It stood for something likeBoxer Engined,
Rear Wheel Drive,
Zzz sleepy, or something...
Can't believe people are still hoping it'll be significantly less than whatever Toyota are charging... naive at best.
It'll be a good basis for tuners which they've stated all along... other than that price.
It would be pretty interesting if Audi suddenly decided the entry level 1.8TFSI TT should come in rwd guise. That's 158bhp and 0-60 in 7.1seconds with 44mpg (obviously a rwd platform would change those stats slightly).
Honda need a rwd roadster version of the Mugen CR-Z and Nissan need a smaller 370Z. It's 1999 all over again!

Just compared two almost equal photo angles.
Toyota: http://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/24774/GT86_4-L....
Subaru: http://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/24785/SubaruBRZ...
Apart from slightly different front bumpers and the Subaru having Jap shaped number plates they look exactly the same. Oh, and the Toyota has a rear spoiler too.

After the initial rush, the BRZ will be moderatley less. Since Subaru dealers don't have Massive SUVs or Priui to It'll be a good basis for tuners which they've stated all along... other than that price.
Pricing is a challenge for both Subaru and Toyota as they both need to compete against European produced competitors which do not have to deal with 10% import duty and a 30% increase in cost due to the Yen exchange rate shift in the past 2 years alone. ie the car exfactory price in Japan is stable but the exchange rate just means the cost in Europe has increased dramatically.
Shifting production to Europe is non viable as 100K is a typical break even volume for all investments. 10-20K volume per year cannot carry such production costs.
