Crikey, those Germans are so innovative, I didn't realise Porsche had invented putting vents like that on a mid engined car.
It's no secret that Toyota copied a lot of design clues from the Boxster to the MR2.

i personally think its underpowered for a sports car
they need to do a bigger power possibly turbo version too
it will enhance the image imho
IMO the Boxster is a car which has juuuuust the right amount of everything. A turbo version would be excessive.they need to do a bigger power possibly turbo version too
it will enhance the image imho
The 911 is where Porsche offers excess

Car looks too much like an MR2
FFS how many people can spout this same unoriginal, badly thought out and inaccurate st on one thread.Apart from the side vents that toyota copied from the original boxster design you'd hardly mistake them would you...even less so in the flesh.
and the large rims ofc

Not sure how you've came to that conclusion, my Spyder has 320bhp around 5 more than the 981 and it's no slouch at all even after my noble 3R which on paper wouldn't be all that much quicker. 60 in around 5 secs and 170 flat out how quick do you want to go!!??they need to do a bigger power possibly turbo version too
it will enhance the image imho

Yawn, why do people care so much about it not being masculine, it's a 315bhp mid engined porsche not a pink corsa! Pretty sad that so many people are scared about what other people will think about their manhood, despite the fact most negative comments are going to be from people who are jealous and own far from 'manly' cars themselves.
+1 I think anyone who struggles with there masculinity from what car they drive is possibly slightly insecure I have always struggled to care what other people think of me; to be seen in a car. With one notable exception...

surely the point is to discuss our opinions on the various cars / articles expertly presented to us
i personally (and my OH) feel this car is very effeminate, does that make it a bad car? no
have i made personal reference to anyone?

OK, applogies, I take the idiot part back. But I wring my hands when people mash their keyboards and stuff like that comes out... I mean, come on, it's a red min-engined convertible, with black bits. surely the point is to discuss our opinions on the various cars / articles expertly presented to us

I don't think it's intentionally abusive (at least I hope not), more the fact that you have been making your point for almost 24 hours now. We get it, really we do! still like this, looks good, if your in the market for a new drop top, and want it to go well, handle well, and like big wheels happy days! winner! 40K is that bad?
i wouldnt buy one, prob rather have the cayman S, but then i'm not a fan of drop tops, if i was i'd be looking at the merc AMG SLK, but then they are 60K plus,,,so again this is a winner.
as for eleccy steering....prefer not, but as chris said it will be here to stay, and it seems anything thats counts towards 'green' and efficient stuff is 'important' to car makers these days...YAWN....but we have to put up with it if you want a new or newer car, if not then go used.

As Chris went to the trouble of basically getting a hand built fully custom tuthill 911 I'm surprised he does not at least speak of the possibility of some modification house swapping the electric steering out for a hydraulic unit. Its almost as if hes given up. He says yes its worse and yes you don't feel the road as well especially in the wet but we can just accept it. too bad. I'm sure more bold folks will surly come out and create hydraulic steering systems for these cars in the next year or 2. j

Not a big enough market IMO, I doubt most modern sports car drivers would know / care TBH.Having bought a Boxster S last summer for the wife I've been converted to it's charms big style, the whole package is superb and I am frequently nicking the keys for a blast!!
We've ordered a new one for June delivery and are really looking forward to it as it appears to be an even better car than the one we have, although I'm not sure where this 40k price tag comes from, I think the S starts at 45k and ours has come in at 62.5k and that's without PDK or PCCB!
Role on June
