House or car - which did/would you chose?

In light of the recent comments, I'm going to refine my view on this:

The house comes before the car, but only to a point... If I can ever afford a £600k house, I'll live in a £250k one and have a very decent garage... As it is I'm going to start looking at what mortgages I can get, hoping to buy a £120k-£150k property, and my car is worth £600...
