I've always been a firm believer in "cars not people" on these forums, and I have the same attitude towards Ronin and his car. Personally, I couldn't give a toss whether he was a rude and obnoxious, because, lets face it, we all are from time to time. I also find it interesting that I've never read the account of a single person whose met him in person who has had a bad thing to say about him. And that's as far as I'll go to discuss him.

My interest is in his car, which is in my view an absolute work of art. There's been plenty of debate across various forums, some of which has already been posted, ss to how responsible he was as an individual for the creation and, again, I care not one jot. Leaving aside all the rhetoric and bullst, it's a fantastic piece of engineering and aesthetically stunning, and I hope it returns to it's former glory soon.

Wow what a pleasant individual Frank is... oh wait no he's not. Severely rude and aggressive. Love what he has done with his car but ruined by his piss poor attitude.

Sounds like that could well have been likely - lets face it though, if you were that Porsche driver and had some idea it might be this bloke, wouldn't you stop a mile down the road as well! I can't imagine it would have been a balanced, two way conversation at the roadside followed by an easy insurance settlement.
Fair point - I love the idea that as he span across their bonnet, the Porsche owner thought "Oh no! It's that bloke from The Internet, I'll give it a few hundred yards before pulling over" rofl

As to the "cars not people" point - that may be fair if there weren't also plenty of wealthy guys with superb machinery that manage to come across as nice guys online. Just because he's pushing the boundaries and has created a hugely impressive Exige doesn't mean people should see past the online persona - the online persona is all most people will see, and it's not really that difficult to be civil, modest and sensible online.

Rather than politely ask that his cars picture be removed or the description edited on the other thread he simply ranted at the writer.

Then when people stated they didnt like the look of his car he immediately started ranting at and belittled them.

So No but going by his posting on here i have no desire to.

Going by the majority of threads on PH I would say your off the mark. The jealousy, envy etc is communicated through sarcastic comments but its clear to see the intent of those who write them. Even PH articles share this same culture, in fact this very article has been wrote in a way I would expect readers to post. The majority of times if a car has been aesthetically modified its barry tat, judging a book by its cover it seems. Just look at the decently modified thread, its full of it on there.

Nooo! You can't really think that secretly, everyone loves this car, and that there is absolutely no one out there for whom this "isn't their cup of tea". Some will like it, and some won't (the stuff of marmite adverts) I don't want or covet it, and I'm sure there are others who don't either. Doesn't mean I think there aren't some who do love it...and good for them for being strange biggrin

Sounds like a total lack of situational awareness. He states he's clocked the Porsche and then it's the "sudden bam". If i'm aware of any sports car behind me I make damn sure to keep tabs on what they're up to and where they've gone if I've lost sight of them.
BNut it's the worlds fastest lotus? Lotus make F1 cars, which are faster in general than endurance cars. Therefore, his car (faster than F1) is probably faster than a works GT1 porsche.

Jumping 5 steps forwards, my presumption is that the car that hit him must have been a really, really streeet tuned job, and therefore had fking massive wheels, 3 sets of gurneys, a daft splitter, and a wing that you could land a jet on. Looks lush, too.

Don't care how many cool cars he's had/owns, what he's paid someone else to build or what knowledge he has.

Guy is a complete and utter tool and social throwback.

End of.

Rebuild the car and give it to a decent PHer.

I believe it was his 65-foot yacht that went up in flames off the coast of Malibu less than two weeks ago. Bummer. And now his car has been seriously damaged in a collision. Terrible luck, it seems. Miraculously, he wasn't hurt in either incident.

edit - Link to yacht fire photos from KTLA Los Angeles news here.

Thank God it was not just me. One look at his website and my sixth sense was screaming "tool" and "hideous piece of work". Thanks Fwaggie for putting words to the feeling.

To be clear, I'm not saying that we should be judging cars by whether they're aesthetically modified or not, my point is that you need to take the car and owner together. My feelings on this have nothing whatsoever to do with jealousy - just his attitude.

I'd love to jump on the Porsche drivers 'All the gear no idea band wagon' but i cant help but feel but the presence of that lotus would be a shiny gold plated dick size comparison for anyone with a big wallet and no talent. I cant pass judgment on either driver/owner But seriously i hope he keeps that lotus where it belongs now, you drive a car like that on the road and seriously what do expect to happen. I just cant understand why people want that much power to weight in a road car...so you can pick up you bread and milk 3.26 seconds faster??
