That is all fine, but what do you get when you buy 'TVR'?
The badge/brand image and what else?
Given the new car will likely be totally new bar a bought in engine (I guess) then maybe it was an opportunity to re-brand... unless the TVR brand really is that strong? But if it was then why did the original TVR go under?

Tvr went under due to the speed6 engine and pw's financial legacyThe badge/brand image and what else?

The problem is, just how crap is another TVR going to be in 2013. In 2004, a decent TVR, say a Sag, was boarderline rubbish (except for having a bit of poke obviously), just to repeat that in 2013 will be a complete joke. Have a look what you can buy for £100k. Yup, there is a lot of choice already availible, and hence volumes will be low, and that pushes the price up even further. Can't see it flying myself........
Didn't look like rubbish to me, at the time....... Cacatous said:
I'd love to see Melling rework the Speed Six for better emissions and reliability but we might have to see it in consigned to history. I do think a straight six from BMW or Nissan would be amazing though!
Melling is a shyster and a charlatan, and the Speed Six has already been reworked for better emissions and reliability. Racing Green, TVR Power and Str8Six all have radically different evolutions that are all immeasurably better than the original. But please don't let facts cloud your ignorance.

Here's to looking forward to the coming months.
The world of cars is a much lesser place without TVR.
Bring it on I say
I certainly agree that the car world isn't the same without TVR & I sincerely hope that our hopes aren't dashed as per usual. The world of cars is a much lesser place without TVR.

When all said & done a TVR takes some beating in terms of the driving experience & that I definitely champion.
Just have read it: The rumours are true, TVR has been sold: The TVRCC has spoken to both the former and new owners of TVR today (Thursday 6th June) and can confirm that Nikolai Smolensky has sold the entirety of the TVR brand and all associated rights and assets to a British company. At the request of the new owners, we will not be joining other sources in speculation, but after speaking to the new owners we are excited about the future and are looking forward to hearing more about their plans for the future.
Bring out a new Tvr of old with an Ls3 and out the box sag handling with a better powder coated chassis and there's the car that will replace my current Tuscan.
No abs, no ESP bullst, just a good chassis, loads of power and typical Tvr looks.....
Thing is IMO, all the t cars still IMO look modern and fresh, re release them with maybe updated lights and more modern colours and there away.
Please not 100k though but I'd bet around 70k , which is too much for me
