Wrong again monkey boy!
I wasn't wrong the first time oh and Did I mention trucks?Hey if you think it's fine to slow down to less than half the speed limit just in case they change which then causes them to change. I think it's fairly safe for me to assume you are a timid driver. May be wrong but it's a fair assumption
But if I'm wrong as you say I'm always ready to be corrected can you point me in the direction where it says in the Highway Code to slow down on green and how far away you should do it.
Cheers

So you are saying that in an auto you would knock it out of drive and pull the hand brake on?
Yup. Whenever i drive an automatic I do exactly that at night once there is someone stopped behind me. Just common courtesy, IMO. I used to use my handbrake, but once I left my car parked for a few weeks with the handbrake on, without going into details, cost me just over £1000 for repairs due to damage from one of the rear shoes.

People who make a statement then keep redefining the conditions when somebody argues with them.Hey if you think it's fine to slow down to less than half the speed limit just in case they change which then causes them to change. Hey I'm guilty as charged of not going into too much detail because I didn't think I'd need to. So yes guilty as charged I thought everybody would know what I meant so was lazy and kept my words short.
However lets take my first post at face value people who slow for green lights.
Educate me as to where it says you should do that in the Highway Code. If you should then I withdraw my application to shoot people in the face who do it.

I think it's about time we had a mass licence cull here in the UK. Simple tiered rules if you break them you loose your licence, with the upper level of you loose it for good, have your car crushed & issued with a bus pass for life instead (I Think that's the best punishment)
If you fail to answer a highway code question correctly at the roadside after a stoppage you move up a tier of punishment.
The process will be instant & swift, with mobile car crushers waiting on standby.
Tier 1 = Licence revoked, retake test asap
Tier 2 = Licence revoked, banned for a period, retake test
Tier 3 = Licence revoked forever, car crushed, bus pass for life issued
So suggestions of offences for culling please, with the tier level I'll start
Forgetting to move to the left on an empty motorway Tier 1
Refusing to move to the left on an empty motorway Tier 2
Flashing lights in response to indication from others to move left after above Tier 3
Nice idea. For anyone guilty of a SMIDSY I'd make them take a bike test first. If you fail to answer a highway code question correctly at the roadside after a stoppage you move up a tier of punishment.

I'll slow for the same reasons I might at any other junction, pedestrians, cyclists or drivers that may not be paying attention. Depends on the speed of approach too, a safe speed along a straight road is not necessarily safe at a junction. I don't just drive at the speed limit everywhere and assume it is safe because it is legal.I thought everybody would know what I meant so was lazy and kept my words short.

Unless you actually trust other people to be paying attention or not break the rules.
Drivers that just do it without knowing why or having a good reason - go ahead and shoot.

You'll just have to trust me that's who I meant. Obviously easing off I can take slowing because of hazards fine, but extra timid drivers who slow when no danger is present are a danger in my opinion.

Not staying in your lane on London Colney roundabout - Tier 9, you and your car are destroyed by missile from a nearby Predator drone.
3 drone strikes for the moronic Highways Agency lorry driving fat wart who was parked at same roundabout around 9pm last night completely blocking sight for drivers leaving M25 from the west.Wr

So why didn't you say that rather than start adding extra starting conditions? easing off I can take slowing because of hazards fine, but extra timid drivers who slow when no danger is present are a danger in my opinion.
You have inspired me...
Driver that brake for speed cameras when they are already below the limit.
Because I didn't think I'd need to. Only a nutter would want somebody banned who took precautions . I assumed everybody would know I meant overly timid drivers.
But I've learned a valuable lesson. I tried to save some typing and now have typed more because of it. I will hence forth be more specific and less economical

People who travel at 40mph in a NSL (I got stuck behind 5 in an 18 mile drive the other day) - Instant removal of license. To the Yaris yesterday doing 30-35mph in a NSL the removal of the license and insertion of car up their arse
Why? It isn't a minimum speed but a maximum speed. On a motorway 40mph is rather foolish but along a country lane I don't see the problem. Maybe they weren't in a hurry / were enjoying the view / some other reason. Doesn't mean they have to drive at 60 the whole way. Just be patient and over-take when safe to do so.fulham911club said:

Driving too slow is likely to marked as a driving fault and driving much slower than necessary is the 10th most common reason for failing the driving test.'

This really winds me up. 'I'm not going fast, so no danger can possibly arise or if it does it won't be my fault, so I can admire the scenery instead of watching the road'.Pesty said:

Ahh, however this is the internet and if someone can interpret your post as wrong by supplying their own extreme conditions they get to post a reply saying so. But I've learned a valuable lesson. Are eggs oval or round? Depends what direction you are looking at them from. Not to mention failing to define what type of egg.
