It has managed to retain the look of a Ford GT, faintly, but I love the last Ford GT and dislike the exterior and interior of this.
I'll take a Corvette Z06 though. V8. 650hp. Luggage space.
Yep, see my query above - I know it was an homage to the original GT40, but on the GT, the lack of luggage space seemed a bit "un-GT" in terms of how the term is usually understood, And in a product pitched against Ferraris, Astons et al.I'll take a Corvette Z06 though. V8. 650hp. Luggage space.
Love the way Ford has just rolled up their sleeves, flipped the bird at the established supercar makers and rocked up in this (just like they did with the GT40 and GT). Blue collar/working class anti-bullsh!t at its best
Haven't got a problem with the name - the way I see it, GT just means top of the Ford tree. Like others, I'm a little disappointed that there's no V8 - couldn't they have stuck one in there and just bunged an Ecoboost sticker on it?
Going on previous form, it will be epic. Can't wait to read about it.

I'm struggling to see how a £100k-£200k+ car is blue collar/working class
The old GT was a stunner, primarily due to the fact it was near as dammit a GT40 with a couple of tweaks. By all accounts it was a cracking drive too which, combined with the retro looks home run, made it the success it was.
This new one to me looks pretty bloody awful, especially from the back, but then again, most modern supercars do look iffy anyway. This combined with the V6 could count against it, powerful though it is, it just seems the wrong engine for the type of car. Still, at least it's not as bad as an i8.
Saying that, I hope they sell a few. It's certainly not dull and it always gives me pleasure to see a supercar out and about being used in these modern times, even if it isn't what I would choose.

Ticks the most important super car feature - wall poster looks.
When it looks this awesome who cares how it drives.
I remember Lambo Countach posters everywhere when I was a kid. Never a great drivers car but never forgotten.
Ford brand occupies an rare place where it gets respect rather than jealousy for its performance cars. I remember it when I had my Cossie.

Greatest name in motorsport helps.More wins and championships in more disciplines than other maker most probably.
F1 (still only 2nd to Ferrari for engine wins)
The legend that Formula Ford has become over the decades.
Sportscar racing incl multiple Lemans wins
Rallying and rallycross
Saloon/Touring car racing
NASCAR
Drag racing
etc.,etc
For the haters who say "why isnt this a V8 like the last GT and the GT40!?? Its a supercar!""
Yes its a supercar, a modern supercar. Its not a modern V8 and/or hybrid "hypercar"!! Its a succeeder to the GT, not a follow on from the old GT. He new Ferrari 458 is "downsizing" to a V6 T too. Where is the haters there!? Suppose its not a "real Ferrari" also??
Some folk do not like change and unfortunately change is needed, as variety is the spice of life after all!!
Even if the GT had of had a 900bhp V8 TT but was still automatic, people would still complain its not a real GT. Lol

Stunning. Hopefully better engineered and screwed together better than the last one, lol.
Not sure where you are coming from with this comment. Build and engineering integrity of the GT was immense, and the most reliable car I have ever owned.I dare say you believe everything he says about Audi's, and that Falklands number plate as well. And Rovers. And that everyone cross continent jaunt they do over 9 million miles always ends up nigh on a dead heat.
Chris Harris, Harry Metcalfe and Steve Sutcliffe, now thats where my £145.50 TV Tax "Licence" should be going! I and everyone i know are SO bored of these badly scripted, ham acted "holidays" with a few cars thrown in.. And did you see how many "film crew" and clingons went to patagonia?! Seriously BBC give the budget to Harris now!
On the GT, I dont care how its built, an F40 looks like its built from bath sealant and its awesome! Cant wait to see the race version!

Yes, BBC, get rid of the presenters of one of your biggest shows and turn it into something that for 99% of the country would be an absolute borefest with presenters that nobody cares about other than a hugely small percentage of the population. On the GT, I dont care how its built, an F40 looks like its built from bath sealant and its awesome! Chris Harris, Harry Metcalfe and Steve Sutcliffe are great print journalists and should stick to their day jobs.
