I've just tried reading all the tweets (hard as brewer has deleted them all).
Oh, thought he might. That's why I screenshotted them all I'll post them later. Busy with customers at the mo.But honestly, what is it coming to when a minor TV celeb threatens to close my business down? Sheesh.

Hold on... If most of us on here (even 30 year old me) can't make much sense of Twitter, how do we expect Brewer to? Maybe it was an honest mistake? Even I read the mini twitter convo as Ling dissing herself.
Yes, maybe he did get the wrong end of the stick (I think he did). But what's surprising is what follows: threats to my business (not jokes) in a public arena. No way am I going to say "ooooh, that's the famous Mike Brewer, I must defer to him" ... no, he was a complete a*se and when a persona slips, and if it's me under attack just for running a successful motor trade business (which he points out the motor trade has an issue with), and especially when 70,000 of his "followers" are reading it, then I'm going to stand my ground... for what that's worth.- Ling

Ling is a total hero! Love her website.
She did a begging job on Dragons Den - they were all oot - but she had 1000's of extra hits on the website as a result. Brilliant bit of free marketing.
My hero.
Thanks for that But... get it right. She did a begging job on Dragons Den - they were all oot - but she had 1000's of extra hits on the website as a result. Brilliant bit of free marketing.

I understand this is a minor technical point, but the Dragons weren't "all oot". They wanted in (Bannatyne and Farleigh). I rejected their offers. Twice, after they "improved" them.
This is because Dragons Den is a nonsense. I didn't want investment. The BBC asked me to go on. I didn't apply to go on in any way, they canvassed me - TO BE VERY CLEAR, THEY PHONED ME... I DIDN'T APPLY TO GO ON IN ANY WAY - and offered me the airtime. The BBC encouraged me to wear scruffy clothes (suits me) and be controversial. I was *ALWAYS* going to say NO, and I asked for £50,000 because that was the minimum at the time, and the smallest figure was the best one to get a bite from the Dragons. It worked. To be very clear, I was offered 10 minutes on prime-time BBC, and jumped at it. That BBC airtime can't be bought, and I conservatively estimate it's been worth over £250,000 - probably more.
That's "TV", in the same way we now know Mike Brewer's persona is TV, and in real-life it seems rather different, plus his superb motor trading skills manage to make a tiny profit in his car business Mike Brewer Motors Ltd. I say "his", but in fact it is a bit of a front as he only owns 16% of it.
But hey-ho, why let facts crowd out a TV name? hahaha.

I'm lost too. I can't work out who's saying what to whoever. I'm 43 by the way and don't do twitter, facebook or any of that stuff.
I suspect that is because you are an adult, rather than a teenager / celebrity obsessed gimp / chav mong.Twitter is pretty damn good so long as you have nothing to do with any of the celebrity aspect. All celebrities are mong magnets.
But using it to follow subjects that you are interested in is very good.
It's a huge collection of clubs but why sane, intelligent people then go and join the clubs that are full of people too thick to get into a Yates Wine Lodge is beyond me.

you should read the thread properly, Ling has posted a few times.
I used to like watching Wheeler Dealers so my piss could boil at Brewer and I would enjoy moaning at the TV. Then I'd relax while watchingEd Paul do the real work in the garage.
