I need my IQ tested because I think that they appear very similar? Don't be a .
They're 2 vehicles from the same manufacturer, the fact that they look similar should be fairly obvious I'd have thought?

I like this a lot, and have never been a fan of the Evoque.

Will be interested to see what the quality of the interior is like as for me that's what really lets other JLR products (F-Pace, XF) down compared to their German rivals.

Wow looks really good. I'd probably rather a used full size though!

Horrific.

Land Rover, until very recently, used to make cars which were large, but inoffensive. Big windows, big chunky design.. What's this meant to be?!

None of it bodes well for the new defender.. It's going to be a 40k style icon isn't it. But money money money, right? fk the bankers, but woo land rover

After you've played around with the configurator and options list for a bit you realise the Velar is around £13,000 more than the F-Pace

And a top specced one is more than the Sport Autobiography.

Well listed out and I understand your point, but ignoring their 'pack and spec' games it is £9k to move away from the base engine, and depending on your starting spec, either £4500 or £6200 to move up to the better level leather for the interior, these are pretty expensive upgrades in my eyes on such a vehicle, at the end of the day for the base spec you spend £44k to get a 4 banger diesel with plastic seats (And some RR interior plastic and fit and finish is not exactly world leading). No wonder they are profitable, I guess this being the new best thing, sales of Evoques will now bomb!
It comes down to them milking the customer dry tbh.

The RRS comes by default with HSE trim (which is actually more like the SE trim here, but still) AND the exterior trim bling pack. For that price (£60k) it's a very nice car. (Albeit still a 4-cylinder diesel, but at least it LOOKS like a luxo Range Rover)

With this car the default poverty trim is, hmm... The 18" wheels, plastic, manual seats, lack of things like power boot, and fancy wing mirrors don't exactly scream 'luxury'. Is £2075 a normal sort of price for 20" alloys (bear in mind that they are taking off the cost of the 18"s)? So I think to make this thing look and feel like a Range Rover, rather than a Dacia Duster, the *minimum* entry cost is £50k.

But then I suppose a Mondeo has at least that much in options, though a base spec Mondeo at least does not cost £45k!

Man, you are really really bitter at an optional purchase.

Your dog must cower every time you get a compulsory tax bill.

What are the thoughts on the optional non-leather interior? The press pack seems to suggest it's an experiment because they have market research that suggests younger people don't want leather interiors as they find them stuffy and old fashioned

I agree not sure if it would make it harder to sell or less valuable used

I recall looking at a Volvo a decade ago that had some sort of leather substitute. From memory it was OK.

I guess plastic seats were good enough for the original Range Rover?

Any pictures?

Indeed. The Evoque looks like a re-skinned Freelander with questionable styling decisions. The Velar looks like a shrunken FFRR, which to my eyes is already the best looking SUV by a country mile.

On the land rover website

Looks terrible !

You will never see a base model on the road.

It looks completely out of proportion, like a different vehicle nearly

So in reality base price is 55k
