Advice on car windscreen issue with main dealer needed

So if a person is looking to purchase an approved used car from a main dealer and on the last MOT there was an advisory for windscreen damage, would you expect this to be something that would be replaced/repaired as part of their manufacturers 142 point check?

Surely they wouldn't leave an advisory outstanding when selling a car, or would they?

Depends on the standards set out in the Approved Used Scheme. There should be a document detailing this; ask the dealer to see it.

Some AU schemes dictate anything such as this be rectified, some go as far as saying the tyres fitted must be of OEM spec. Other AU schemes will be less prescriptive-if it’s an advisory on the MOT this may be acceptable.
