most folk including any chums you probably don't have anyway pissing themselves uncontrollably at your tragic levels of desperation to impress and vainly big up your shallow little world.

Unlike yours all my cars are unadulterated factory oem spec and any design element has been honed by Porsche over the years with their obvious expertise.

If you are outraged by their perfect design you could always object why not contact PGB I'm sure they would take notice. rofl

I am sure this has been covered before:

'Private' plate = Council.

Naff or Cool is for someone else to decide, but either way - council.
How do you define 'council' ?

My car is now officially the oldest in the company car park, according to its plate. However, it’s a pretty ageless design so I have been tempted to get a plate that hides the year.

Why? Wear the age with pride I say

I was never in favour of private plates, but many years ago i found out that the plate that has my last two initials actually was a suffix that belonged to the city where i live.
Took me several years to find one for sale, have had it for about 30 years now.

You have to have a bunch of letters and numbers stuck to your car... might as well have ones you like.

I’ve had the same reg no on my cars for the past 20yrs. DGAF if anyone thinks they’re naff, it’s nobody’s business but mine. Not mis-spaced or altered with screws, etc, just my initials and three numbers. When I bought a brand new car the same model as my old one last year I put the plate on as I didn’t feel the need to show the world that I had just bought a 19 plate car.

Hmmm - I don't identify with any of that, but I do have a private plate (surname and initial - all perfectly spaced with standard font and BS marked) - sorry to burst your bubble.

I have a 2 letter 2 number plate that was passed down through a succession of less and less impressive cars from my gt grandad. I like it for the fact that in a sea of little grey cars it makes mine easier to spot.

Buy a red car? Much easier to spot than a plate?

It's probably an "appreciating asset", so you might as well keep it. smile

I have never owned a car with a personalised plate, somehow this year I have ended up with two.

They came with the cars.

Do I care enough to change them, nope!!

I have 3, and for me it's about the stories surrounding their acquisition.

Main car is a NI plate, ending in 000 so quite distinctive. Bought as a graduation present for myself after I completed my Masters at 51.

Wife has a plate with her initials on but I deliberately bought one that's too new for her current car, meaning she has to change it.

Fun car has a 3x3 which I acquired years ago attached to a free Volvo 340.

All are legally spaced and correctly displayed.

I have three. All are in the format of A1 BCD. I never really set out to acquire them but, now I have them, I rather I like them. They just look a bit neater than DU17 XUF type plates. None cost me more than £200, IIRC.

One was bought for a particular reason - it solved an issue I had around the delivery of a car. It references the type of car it is on.

Another was on a car that I bought. When I sold it, the dealer wouldn't pay me the delta for the plate, so I kept it (it also happens to have letters that mean something to me).

I then thought I ought to buy one for the wife, so got one with her initials.

None of the other cars have them.

Some people like them, some people hate them. I have one that "says" the name of where in the world my family originate from. I like it as it's a nice reminder, especially since my mother passed away young and just because I like it.

Live and let live.

P.s it also disguises how old my car is so I now look like a powerfully built CEO £10k a day
