Ioniq 5 N and some change please.
I thought they were EV (and hatchback) only. Learn something new every day.
What's your point? They're both a way of blowing £70k to carry four adults around, regardless of powertrain.
Has anyone actually paid anywhere nr 70k for a 5 n?
Well I don't think they're available to order yet, but the press release said "from £65000", so yes, I guess with a few options they might be knocking on for £70k, or thereabouts.

From a 6.3 turbo to a 2.0. No thanks.
User name checks out, but they didn't get the memo about the 6.3 turbo engine.

Ah ok, but this says 70k in reality it won't be what people pay. Assume same for the hyundai given what it is. 65 is just a starting figure to go down from. Quite a lot one suspects.

I thought all the sales were direct now, cutting out the opportunity for negotiation with the retailer?

Yep, that's bloody expensive.

As others have said, it's directly comparible with the M340i. From first hand experience you can spec one very highly to about £68k, then knock £11k off if you order from the right place. This is for a touring as well.

Didn't even consider the Merc if I'm honest, if it were still a V6 I would have done.

I was specing a the CLE 350 coupe(the new c class coupe replacement) And the otr cost was £60,000! Standard blue paint and a light cream interior.

As I said earlier, I reckon Merc have just lumped in the ZEV Mandate fine - it'll depend on how their EV sales are going during the year. If they don't sell many EQ[x]'s then that'll be £70k for the C43, if they're well on the way for their 22% quota then a C43 is yours for a bargain £55k smile

Be an interesting year for pricing next year...

Why is it so heavy! That weighs more than my C63! That's with a 6.2 V8!

Also if you turn off the electrical power in the new one, would it then be as quick as the c63 w204 & w205?

The W204 is 6.2 and the W205 is 4.0 twin turbo.

I can't help but think the price is just too excessive and isn't justified. Pretty much bang on the same list price as an Audi RS4 which is getting a bit long in the tooth now but that isn't always a bad thing (has real HVAC controls) and is 100kg lighter, with 2 more cylinders and an extra 40hp.

Not to mention the M340i at a relative bargain £58k and the Alpina B3 at £79k this is a pretty competitive price point. To be completely honest I wouldn't even consider the Merc at £71k nono

fk me!

- 1840kg with only a 4-pot?!? That's 400kg heavier than a Golf GTi which isn't much smaller (can a boot weigh 400kg*?), and more than the outgoing V8.
- £71k for the 'mild' version?

What the fk's happened with cars nowadays?!? grumpy

* Yes, I know, 4wd and 4ws...but that lot won't weigh much more than a 100kg unless the engineers have been very lazy.

Don't tell me you're the one who's been lazy and not read the fact this car is a hybrid? wink

I'd have thought you'd have mentioned that in your "4WD and 4WS" part of your comment if so?

Not sure if I'm missing a joke here, but this car isn't a hybrid. C63 is a plug-in hybrid, but this just has an electrified turbo.

Only two options, paint and whatever the vision roof is. Adds £2k to the car if you choose both

Article says it's a 48V mild hybrid. Sort of luxurious 4WD and 4WS estate car with over 400bhp weighs more than less powerful hatchback shocker, though.

Very mild, given it doesn't come with a dedicated battery pack...which funnily enough is where most of the weight is - a 6kW pancake motor isn't going to weigh f-all...'hybrid' in this instance is all marketing mouth and no economy-benefit trousers.

So I repeat my comment, and you may want to rethink yours... scratchchin

2.0T with a 43 badge is fine with me BUT the price is too strong for a 2.0T imo, also once you turn off the synthetic noise it actually sound sh*te.

When you can buy 6 pot alternatives these become a very hard sell.

So is a Ford Raptor Pickup.
