That's a 200mph car lurking in Chievely Services.
...and yet my response to that statement is 'meh'.As a teenager 200mph was a BIG deal - the F40 was launched soon after I started secondary school and everyone was "wow - 200mph" - first official/factory-spec road-car to do it. 959 couldn't even get there. And from then on we'd occasionally hear about the next challenger - the EB110, some special RUF, the XJ220, some special from the USA...but each (even the RUF) seemed truly exotic and other-worldly.
By the time I left Uni the Mclaren F1 had largely rewritten expectations...and it in particular was no less other-worldly than the cars before it.
...but in recent years 200mph has become just another marketing exercise, as advances in turbocharging tech and aerodynamics have made it far more of a desk-engineering exercise than the older exotica ever were. There are saloons boasting this performance now!
And the 991 Turbo-S is arguably the poster-boy for this...this 'ennui' against blunt, stats-chasing power and performance - unquestionably the car is indomitable at any price-point anywhere close to it, yet how many schoolboys would stop-and-stare if it drove past them? Or know it was something apparently special?

Which neatly captures my own experience of lusting after a black 930 with a ridiculous whale tail as a teenager, or occasional days when it would be white with Martinis, yet now I'm safely middle aged a black 991 Turbo S would still be my dream car but for the reason that it's usefully stealthy to drive around without attracting too much attention. chasingracecars said:
Not very often you get to see two generations of Jazz together in one place, and in the same colour! ![paperbag](/inc/images/paperbag.gif)
Doesn’t the first one have the P1 *** Number plate off the press cars?![paperbag](/inc/images/paperbag.gif)
P1 OOV was the very very dark purple car used by most reviews
