I can't help but feel AML and McLaren have not done themselves any favours with their recent deals - it may have shifted some stock short term, but who the hell would walk in and buy a V8 Vantage now at £2k a month when they were literally half that before?
It’s all the powerfully built PH’ers that will feel the pain after they’ve spunked the cash on them.jayemm89 said:

Smacks of desperation a bit doesn’t it. Also further hurting residuals especially for McLaren. McLaren is *almost* understandable - 570 is at the end of life, 720 Coupe is technically unavailable bar special order. So it could be seen as clearing way for new stock (even if that isn't what it was).
The AM V8 though, is far from being replaced - they were doing deals on DB11 AMR too to shift those, which are also fairly new.

So TGE is more VIP than you?
When the GT R launched initially it was very highly sought after and they traded at £20-30k premiums so giving discounts wasn't a thing. Then the limited edition 750 units of both the GT R Pro and GT R Roadster each haven't been hard to sell so on these kind of cars they have no need to knock money off.rich12 said:
You didn't get a penny off a single car??
I'm sure that's true but I find that very hard to believe.
I wouldn't put something in writing that isn't true, but 'unfortunately' no discounts to be had on first owner experiences of a GT R Coupe 2 years ago, or a GT R Pro or GT R Roadster now.I'm sure that's true but I find that very hard to believe.

Even the DBS had a pretty awesome 2 year deal going. The AM V8 though, is far from being replaced - they were doing deals on DB11 AMR too to shift those, which are also fairly new.

Andy Palmers plan is to effectively now throttle back on Vantage production so that the dealers have far less stock (and hence if you want a Vantage you won’t be able to get the big discounts in future). That’s the stated plan. Maybe it has a chance of working given the potential success of DBX, maybe it won’t. They (AM) have been saying this for years. It always lasts about 5 minutes before they renege on it. New channel from Jonny Smith aka Car Pervert.

Is there a particular reason why this new GTR Pro is been offered with a massive discount? Is it the spec?2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R PRO - with Big Discount?
?
Ready Car?
Brand New?
Iridium Silver?
Price: €164,000 ?

In your own words “don’t be that guy” Tim. It was a legitimate 3-4 posts following on from the discussions of TGEs video. It’s hardly dominated the 3 volumes of the thread
Three pages of discussion about financing , residuals and Astons actually. It’s not really what this thread is about. Actually most of the three volumes seems to have been about how Youtubers finance their cars, their family backgrounds etc. It’s almost as though the clue is in the thread title.
But I agree. Enough about Aston/McLaren/Mercedes finance
I enjoyed the latest Carfection video with Henry and Vicky Butler-Henderson. They seemed to work well together; I can see that being a great combination for Carfection to utilise in future for their back-to-back car comparisons. And I assume having seen what Channel 5 did to Tiff, Vicky must be looking to diversify away from Fifth Gear?
