No; halogen

Can see the headlight height adjuster wheel in one of the pics

However; due to the design of the Hella halogen headlights, they're very VERY close to the xenons, so D2S xenon bulbs & ballasts can be retrofitted very easily for around £100 or less smile

Just need to ensure that the adjusters are in one piece; otherwise they'll need to be rebuilt (a very faffy job if you're useless at stuff like that, like me) biggrin
Wouldn’t it be easier to just put LED’s in?
It'd be easiest to just drive in daylight.

Just catching up. This thread moves at a fair rate of knots!
Watching Chris Harris doing the Stirling Moss tribute episode of Top Gear. Brilliant stuff!

Each to their own; you need specific adapter rings for LEDs though and some of them need to be modified to fit the E39 Hella headlights

It does and I actually like the silver and black on this.

Not sure about the wheels though, they're not original are they?

No but they look okay although there is the slight feeling something's not quite right.

Lovely looking car though.

Not sure I'd call it immaculate.

But certainly a nice smoker if the price doesn't go mad.

At one time the roads were full of these. I am just trying to remember the last time I saw one...

I remember my time in one very fondly (odd engine note aside) it seemed genuinely quite brisk, nice great early modern Audi interior and sharp design.
Did Le Mans in it once and a French holiday and it was absolutely in its element on the French roads.

ETA:

Here's a later one (facelift?)

Not a barge and a diesel but half thread max and sporting SIX forward ratios.

Not sure if we've had this before, we seem to have a few e39 enthusiasts among us. 230k miles, a Gerald's-slip-on interior colour scheme, but Alpina and looks to be well maintained.

I thought that was one of the joys of buying a car - organising the reams of paperwork into a neat pile and filing it away somewhere where you've no hope of remembering where it is when it comes time to sell it.

I thought that the B10 was a 4.4L V8, rather than a 3.2L

In E39 form the B10 came in 3.2, 3.3, 4.6 and 4.8.

In E34 the B10 came in 3.0, 3.5, 3.5 BiTurbo, 4.0 and 4.6.

Don't get me started on the E23, E24, and E28

B10 looked good even with the miles, this Mora 535i in the suggested listings looks lovely too. Once the Alpina badges and Exhaust are ditched of course.
