It is boring, even in sunny Acton I saw to Gallardo's in the space of five mins. It's in central you get ppl taking the camera phones up and filming one. I actually find the whole current super/hyper/phallic car thing really boring, Mclaren bring out a super duper one, Ferrari bring out a super duper one, Lamborghini bring out a super duper one I tend to skip all the reviews of these things.

Give me a GTR, RX-7/8, Impreza STI , EVO then I may get my camera out, far more interesting to me.
You would rather take a picture of a Mazda Rx-8?
You read it wrong, those type of cars interest me more, I very rarely take a picture of anything on the road, in fact apart from own cars, one 8C in the car park at Goodwood and something else is all I can remember. Everything else has been on the track.

Exactly the point, really.

It's a CAR forum. Not a "Drive like a tit and film it all" forum. Surely it's not counter intuitive for members of a car forum to take their cars and driving seriously enough that they don't zip about the place causing annoyance and danger to other road users?

I don't dislike supercars, or these 'supercar scene' fools. Hell, I suppose that going to the FoS at Goodwood year in, year out makes me a 'spotter' of sorts. But out on public roads, it should be enough just to see a nice motor being driven well, and not to artificially engineer silly situations that benefit no-one save a few dappy lads in anoraks.

You want donuts? Krispy Kreme has plenty. Otherwise save them for the tracks, the private roads, or the disused airfields. Burnouts and drag races have no place out on the highways and byways, when they are mixing it up with the general public.

Regarding that video, if someone followed me for 45 minutes, filming me and were orbiting around my car like a complete fking dick I can't say I'd react in a manner I'd be particularly proud of either.

+1 I'd have been sorely tempted to give that guy a slap, but would have made do with reporting him to the police. So bizarre that he thought he was the wronged party and called 911!

I'd pay good money to see the sad spotters in London get the same treatment as that WRX wker. Imagine the YouTube hits Shmee could get "Here's me annoying the fk out of everyone and then getting shouted at so I st it"

laugh

One of my boys wants to go for a day trip to london when all these cars are around as he loves supercars and that obviously the place to see lots of them.

Just hang around Harrods, Bond Street, etc. Sunny days bring out swarms of cars. Best in June to August when the Middle Eastern owners ship their cars to London to escape the boiling Summer weather.

Make the trip on the final Saturday of the month and you could also take him to see the muscle cars & hot rods at the Chelsea Cruise, around Chelsea Bridge and Battersea Park. I think it kicks off from around 7-7.30pm.
It's a short drive or bus ride (137 or 452).

You could go any weekend and it would be easy to spot some cars... More come out and about in the summer through.. Sloane st and the area around Harrods will be the best places to look, also Mayfair, South ken and the rest of Knightsbridge, you will defo find something...

If he wants to see arabic cars i'd recommend the week before as that's one day into Ramadan so they'll have mostly vanished.

Glad you posted that. I thought they were there until the end of July.

Maybe they enjoy it?

I expect some are trying to be the next Shmee but he was one of the first and puts in a tonne of effort behind the scenes. Others just enjoy cars/photography and central London is where you're guaranteed to see something tasty.

I do agree it is a bit odd to see another 20 spotters in every video but if they're enjoying themselves and staying out of trouble, I don't see what the problem is.
They will never be the next Shmee unless they have a bottomless pit of money, self earned or from Bank of Mummy and Daddy.

Shmee has been going to Europe and beyond since the very beginning of his youtube channel.

Anyone wanting to be a carparazzi in my neck of the woods would be waiting around all day.

Aanyone with a supercar has them sitting on their driveway all week with a cover over them

Surely the point the lambo driver reached in and slapped him/the camera then subaru driver had been assaulted?

Yes 45 mins of following the lambo was maybe excessive but if you lay hands on someone and it's all on camera then you've escalated the incident and you'll end up coming off worse.

I'm not saying he was right to do what he did, but if you follow someone for 45 minutes with a camera, don't be surprised if they give you a slap.
