RE: All new Ford GT - Detroit 2015
Discussion
Each car dealer will get one, maybe two cars so the premium will be great even before it is truly tested - I don't want to be one of those guys.
No shifter, seems like they are trying to be ITALIAN here.
Enough of this false CO2 BULLS&$*T already. Here in the states we are consumed by co2 melting the icebergs and killing off the communist gay whales, so now our "super cars" must suffer(as if we had one)
-Ford should make boats if they are so concerned over emissions.
A once a year race
that they can't win will not put this car back into 1965 especially with a V6 -it is pretty though. I say a flat blown 4 cylinder under 100k, then concentrate on "HANDLING" otherwise you just have an expensive corvette.
2cents.

Greatest name in motorsport helps.
More wins and championships in more disciplines than other maker most probably.
F1 (still only 2nd to Ferrari for engine wins)
The legend that Formula Ford has become over the decades.
Sportscar racing incl multiple Lemans wins
Rallying and rallycross
Saloon/Touring car racing
NASCAR
Drag racing
etc.,etc
Indeed. And an awful lot of the expertise and work that got these trophies came out of the UK. More wins and championships in more disciplines than other maker most probably.

I'd also add that Ford were excellent custodians of some very important British brands, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston and that while they made some mistakes during their stewardship they only exist now and with the models that they have because of Ford.
It's why I've never understood the Ford/GM argument across the world. There just isn't any competition, Ford occupies a completely different space to GM and has done for over 50 years.

Vauxhall had some notable rally success in the 70s and also on track with the Firenza. It's why I've never understood the Ford/GM argument across the world. There just isn't any competition, Ford occupies a completely different space to GM and has done for over 50 years.
GM have been campaigning the Corvette at Le Mans for many years and were also successful for many years, on track, with Plato's cars under Vauxhall and Chevy.
