Cars where the heart says 'yes' but the head says 'hell no'
Discussion
In no particular order -
Late 60's notchback mustang. Looked at a couple, but way down the price range, so get scared of rust and rebuild costs, so head win
Porsche 911. Got close with a 964 targa, but was leaking like a seive. Head win.
Last generation Range Rover. Only seem to come in 2 flavours - well looked after and costing a fortune, or totally shagged and needing a bucket of money chucked at them. Head win.
Alfa Gta. Owned a couple of Alfas and mostly been reliable, only let down by crap dealers and cost of parts, so the costs involved on a GTA must be nuts.
Mk2 escort RS2000. Again, came very close with a ropey one years ago, but had just got rid of a capri due to rust problems and didn't want to re-visit that particular nightmare.

Its just another V6 though, same intervals etc as the 2.5 unit no? And for service you want a good indy, especially on a GTA, not a main dealer.Personally the thing scaring my out of a GTA is the fuel cost mostly, that and keeping it in proper tires... (and the small fact i dont have the money to buy a GTA right now)
Not so much the engine Vitorio, as everything else!
Different suspension, brakes, exhaust, etc. All made in small numbers by Alfa. Take a figure, double it and add some 000.
Forgot to add - building a clubman racecar out of my TT. Heart says "oh yes", head says " don't want to mortgage the kids and my internal organs"

Think about this.....
Years from now, when the DVLA has taken your licence off you because you are too old to drive, and you are sitting in a piss stained chair at the Twighlight Home for the Hopelessly Bewildered,".............
Exactly this, which is why I bought an AM Vanquish unseen and my DD is an L322 diesel Vogue. The Vanquish in 3 years needed a battery lead and the Vogue in 6 months of daily use including some 100 mile work commutes has required nothing.Years from now, when the DVLA has taken your licence off you because you are too old to drive, and you are sitting in a piss stained chair at the Twighlight Home for the Hopelessly Bewildered,".............
Sometimes you can talk yourself into doing nothing for fear of doing something. One life etc.
