This video popped up in my YouTube feed. Shows the kind of abuse and ending that a lot of these nicked RS's end up with. It's a nicked 61 plate RS6 Estate in Birmingham, Police pursuit with tactical contact.

Thanks - that seems to explain why most Audis are driven by tw*ts these days!

You certainly wouldn't want it back if it got recovered. frown

This video was doing the rounds a few weeks ago, it should be shown to the people who ask if an Ex traffic car is a good buy, sadly this seems quite common nowadays, I would imagine that it was quite scary for the police involved too,

All those speed bumps did a great job of slowing everyone down.

Need a bit more than whatever they were in to spin a 2 tonne, 4wd beast like that.

Prime retail stock being sourced for certain car dealers there.

I watched this yesterday as another PH'er I know lives in that estate.

How do people think they would act if the police were armed? I personally think this kind of stuff would be a lot less frequent.

Down here in sleepy old Devon the Traffic and Armed Response guys are pretty much merged now with ARV's outnumbering Traffic by 2-3 units to 1 usually on a shift. Any pursuit (if it's authorised) will almost certainly involve armed officers and they predominantly drive X5's down here and the guys I know aren't shy about using 'tactical contact' if it's needed. We have the advantage of less urbanised areas though and more tractors and quads being nicked than performance cars.
The request for the helicopter made me laugh in that video. With the damage the Police vehicles were sustaining the villains would be long gone before the NPAS guys had even put their flight suits on.

A handy feature for cars like these has been created by a company up here in the north east:
https://www.facebook.com/BassMechanix%20/

They call it the ghost immobiliser, works flawlessly. Worth looking into if you have something worth the hassle of nicking, doubt anyone would want my 1.6 X trail.........
This is very clever and most certainly stops anyone taking the car, short of physically putting it on a low loader. The problem is, having been stopped by this, the crims then come after your sleeping family in order for you to release the code.

All this business is rather putting me off the kind of cars they want, to be honest. I have my two young children sleeping in my house now and, where I'd previously never given it a second thought, it's now genuinely concerning.

That said, this Ghost gizmo would be fantastic for thefts away from home, where cars are disappearing from shopping centre car parks etc.

Yep, the car in the video is the current RS6, which would have been too new for a 61-plate. This car criminals are obviously not anorak enough. hehe

Shirley everyone is a nice car needs to drive defensively (in Utopia you shouldn't have to but this is the real world). Leave 1/2 a car length minimum to make your escape using the vehicle as a battering ram against the miscreants if necessary. In the words of another PHer: Dominate the streets!

At 2:20 minutes into the video, why would the police ram the Audi when there's parked cars up ahead? They very nearly got wiped out by the out of control Audi.

I'd be very annoyed if my parked car was struck by a vehicle that had been rammed by the police.

Laughable driving by Plod with pathetic attempts at stopping the fkers.

Why didn't they take the Audi out at the first junction as they did a right turn.

RS models don't feature in the top ten most stolen models so less than 2.4 per 1000 stolen. More bother if you own a defender, Range Rover, X5, Q7 even a plain old A5 or 5 series!

Avoid the S3 which is the most often stolen at 8.6/1000 and you're good.
