Guys it is a Griffith and those were always conservatively styled compared to the rest of their lineup. Seems like everyone on here wanted a Sagaris.
That maybe true but there was only one chance to relaunch TVR and if the styling of their first product needs explaining then the designer did a bad job.
Indeed - "TVR roaring back..." was one of the straplines I heard. It needed to be shock-and-awe, jaw-dropping and trouser-tighteningly good.

PH should be the place it's received better than anywhere else given that this place started for TVR enthusiasts and if the reception amongst petrolheads on here (many of who have the means and desire to buy high-end cars) is this lukewarm then I'm not sure it bodes well for TVR out in the wider world.

It will need to be insanely good to drive.

I think it all sounds pretty tasty! far more positives in the specification than negatives to me. Agree the wheels are pretty rubbish though.

People have hyped themselves up that it was going to be some sort of extreme Sagaris track refugee type car, which was never going to be the case! The original Griff was a nice, but fairly bland looking car, as was the Cerbera, so its not like TVR have form in producing mental looking cars straight off the bat. That'll come later in different versions of this platform.

The technology seems excellent for a low-volume sports car. If the chassis is good, and the power train all we hope, then it's respectable value for a 400bhp/Te ENTRY level model.

I think it looks completely brilliant.

The proportions are pure TVR.

Pic 3 of 19. Is that an off colour door?
Yes it is.

Totally inexcusable to have that on a car which everyone will be taking photos of and spreading around the internet.

Clearly it's some form of 3-stage paint colour and the doors have been painted seperatly to the rest of the body.

Wheels really do make the car, forgive my 5 minute photoshop. IMO it needs multi spokes and fatter tyres.
Do it with the 3/4 pic!

Willing this on to be a success, think i will come round to the looks, especially in the flesh.

I was watching the live stream, it was a little embarrassing when the curtain dropped, the music stopped etc and silence....

EPAS is disappointing but not unexpected, the fact is it's an N/A RWD manual shifting car that weighs less than 1300KG. It sounds good so far, we'll see how it drives.

Had two TVRs back in the day, have had 911's since but still hold TVRs dear.
This looks a bit grim, pricing near £100k is optimistic, lots of good quality alternatives at this price point.

I don't think the photography (very poor sorry) or the horrid wheels do it any favours.

Its still very nice to see the return of TVR though.

I think it looks great. I was worried it was going to be quite tame to appeal to the general market. I think they've gone with enough unique styling cues to make it stand out.

Not sure about bits of the drives side interior, needs to be curved

It does look very Japanese (GT86/RX-7/LFA) but it's a new TVR, I like it! Would love to see it in a different colour, don't think that red suits it.

The worst thing about the launch has been the negativity on here. Entirely predictable sadly.
Completely agree. I was only a few posts in before people started moaning about the photographer! Balanced views are fine, but some people just like to rip into things for no reason.

From the a-pillar back, that looks very much like a Ginetta G40, particularly the rear end profile...

From these pictures, I personally think it looks awful and will bring the beginning of the end for TVR. It does look dated and the wheels just don't seem to sit right in the arches. The back end does look better than the front; I'ts got a hint of Toyota FT1 in it.
