it is, hugely over designed and massively fussy, gives me a migraine to look at ...
It's a whole lot less clumsy looking than the 488, though I still think the 458 was cleaner and prettier looking.

AH.......The Manual Gearbox. Now everything makes sense....

So. Modern supercar that gives greater feedback/involvement than a current Ferrari? That would be.....?

PS - Nice quip 'Modern Donkey' by the way. Just make sure that chip doesn't slip off your shoulder and put a splint in your arse wink

THIS STILL HAS A METAL TUB BWHAHAHAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! roflrofl

Are Ferrari so broke they cant afford to build a new Carbon Fibre tubbed car for this money? Seriously McLaren must be kicking them HARD, First Lambo making 4x4, Now Ferrari making a 4x4, And now this... dont you think this is JUST EMBARRASSING?

To quote the article: "even with the GTB still at the pinnacle of mid-engined supercars four years"

WHAT? Are you serious? It has a METAL TUB, normal doors i can find on a bread van and.. sounds rubbish imo. And even to ferrari fanboys the Pista was just meh.

Still at least this new replacement has a Carbon Tub right? No? For how much? confused Do you think im stupid? confused

Now let me think.. Im pretty sure i can get a Carbon Tubbed McLaren for less with Hypercar doors. Hypercar performance and imo wayyy cooler heritage. thumbup

Well we will have to disagree then. I was genuinely surprised when i bought my first Ferrari several years ago and happened to meet several other owners, who like me cared not one jot about perceived status. It’s at itch I wished to scratch as an enthusiast, since visiting motorshows in the 80’s i wanted to try a prancing horse, the motorsport heritage, the mystic of Ferrari. I really couldn’t give a stuff about the image/impression driving a Ferrari says to other people about me. That has nothing to do with why i might sink my hard earnt cash into one. The cars are wonderful to drive, and the ownership experience is second to none. I love and enjoy an eclectic range of cars, but Ferrari are very very special.
I know a number of owners. Only one had a Ferrari for the image, he came from a matt RR Wraith, and has quite quickly swapped it for a brand new Bentley GT. Everyone else isn't in any way showy, don't drive theirs to be seen, they get every bit of every mile driven as enjoyment.

Sit on Alderley Edge's London Road on a warm day. It's like an exotic motor show. Cars been driven, at high revs, through the village, then nailed up the hill, only to return 5 mins later. Lambos, lots. McLarens, lots. R8s, even more. Porsches, yes but not as many. Veyrons/Chirons, yes. Bentleys, yes. Ferraris, some, but nothing like as many. Parked up, plenty, but not being driven to be seen.

I still remember the first Ferrari I drove. 348 GT Competizione in 1998, and Donnington Park. I'd spent the day in Porsche 964 RS, Carrera Club Sport, 993 RS, TVR Cerbera, few caterhams and few other cars. I then got the chance to drive a friend's Competizione, with Willie Green as a passenger. I'd never driven anything like it. It was alive, it was like there was nothing to interfere between the tarmac and my hands, no rubber, the brakes stopped time, but still have perfect feel. The fluidity was supernatural. It captivated me. It wasn't the quickest car, but it was a world ahead of anything else I'd driven that day. It was alive. I've been lucky enough to drive every mid engined incarnation since, they all have that same beat, amplified every time. The Front Engined ones, ditto, not quite as special IMO, not quite as alive, but still in a class of one. Same thing, in a diluted stance, when first drive the Giulia QF compared to the M3/C63s/Ghibli/Lexus thing. On paper, all similar. But the Ferrari input made the Alfa alive, and made the others, fantastic cars that they are, just seen dead in comparison.

One of each please (except the 348. Have never liked that.) Red's fine ta.
You do realise thats not a 308 right? Theres two 328's there, with all this ferrari fanboying going on i though more of them would have noticed by now seeing as they Loooove all this heritage so much rofl

Heres one, note the black bumpers, cool looking car imo, i like the dino too, cute lil one that.

Oh and you missed out the 348 Mk.1 the one with the black sills and duller red paint, the one that handled so rubbish they had to redo it with the Mk2 pictured. thumbup

How come when McLaren bring out a new car they get slated for it looking the same as the previous model but when Ferrari bring out something that is based on a Ten year old design they get praised.

The design of this car is older than all of McLaren Automotive's cars.

Food for thought.
Makes you wonder who's posting all this ferrari praise doesnt it? I read their shares were down recently and a big cheese was let go for high sales targets that wernt met. Surely rolling out another design based on the now antiquated metal 458 makes them look flat broke and desperate? Maybe this is like what Lambo did to the Lp560 with a late facelift to buy them some time and presumably get more cash in for the huracan?

the allure of ferrari is the perception of wealth, they are status symbols (as well as being amazing cars) and for most just seeing one on the street is a special thing (i.e outside of London)
not to me, and I buy their cars. Ferrari is the pinnacle of motoring to me, their heritage, their performance, the feeling they give to you when you drive the cars, the service they provide to the small band of customers who purchase their cars, it's on another level compared to any other marque. ownership is a very special experience, and nothing to do with others perception or status, at all.
What heritage? All i think of is a company that was so rubbish the drive shafts didnt line up and Lamborghini built his own cars. I cant think of another company that was so useless it spawned another company that still today steals sales from them. All im going to think of when i see one of these new ones is confused bit like i do know when i see a maserati california driver with racing gloves on rofl

Oh and dont even get me started on "special experieces" with ferrari dealers, wouldnt go there again, what a joke.

Everyone has their own opinion but to my eyes this is not a classically bueatuful design.
The 488 Pista is more cohesive and better looking.
Most of the people in the market for such a car will be looking elsewhere myself included.
This is essentially a facelifted 488 which is essentially a facelifted 458 (a 10 year old car)
Even Porsche change their ubiquitous 911 more from generation to generation than this new design.
Only Ferrari can get away with turbocharging their V8 and making the design alot uglier and calling it a new model and charging the customer more (provided they can get on the list to order one)
And the name... dont even get me started. Ferrari has really lost its way and now only cares about churning out model after model to compete with the likes of McLaren and Lamborghini new facelifted models themselves.
I would much rather have a naturally aspirated 458 or the Pista even over this.
Ferrari fanboys and those not even in the market will no doubt love the design.
Get a 458 for the N/A with a better exhaust of course, those valves sound horrible. Or get a 600LT with a carbon tub, better doors, flames, drama, excitement, better handling, more fun. These wobbly metal cars are so out of date.

You keep posting this irrelevant pic about any car that doesn't have a carbon tub. Why ? Until you've seen the torsional rigidity figures, you don't know which one is stiffer, irrespective of what it's made of. And even then, the law of diminishing returns hits chassis hard at a level of flex so low that it makes no difference for the intended use, ie to keep the kinematics and wheel control optimized. In other words, twice as stiff as very stiff brings very little ROI, if any.

Have you driven or even passengered a 458 with the kind of chassis tension that can only be experienced on track at 10/10th ? I have. Flex is not exactly an issue.

Strange comment about something posted at 8pm. Weakens your point, quite childish. Plenty of things you could have said that would have worked better.
