I remember thinking that this was going to be a great film... but it's just a clever ad from Mercedes...

hallelujah - somebody gets it!

look, its run by a german - hence the sharp german hugo boss esque suits etc etc, and the brand is owned by the middle eastern investors who have stripped aston martin of its brand rights (certainly for middle east and asiapac - maybe everywhere...) so this is all about showing german efficiency and reliability with a smack of english heritage and snobbery - which is what your average new monied russian, and far eastern oligarch wants !

But for english audiences it is somewhat 'wooden'

Sorry but i think Jaguar take the award for bullst marketing

can anyone tell me why oh why they call the XF a coupe? its got 4 bloody doors and last time i looked it was a flamin saloon car. How thick do they think we are? They insist on calling it the "best 4-door coupe in the world".. horsest if you ask me!

Film is cheesy in places doesn't have the wow factor, see what happens in Part 2. Same as Porsche, Aston have lost the plot with a four door saloon.

its interesting that the 4 door coupe was afaik started with merc and the cls - which seems to have been a roaring success based upon the amount of them i see.

VW passat 4 door coupe - I think I can count them on one hand...

Audi something or other coupe 4 door coupe ? - er never really sure - all the A4/5 etc all look to similar so dont really know if ive seen one or not

Porsche and AM - well probably seen a couple of each...

I do wonder what the real market GBP sweet spot is for 4 door coupe?

under 30K i expect people want practicality (contortionists 4 door coupe or estate/exec saloon - i suspect the latter !)

30-50K I guess they want a brand (merc vs VW - er I think we know the answer)

over 50k - I guess the punters have enough money for a convertible, coupe, 4x4, and luxury barge....so who needs compromise? Maybe this is the problem with the Porsche and AM

If 'it' was so important, they obviously wouldn't all be travelling in the same car.

I have just watched "it" and I feel physically sick! How can Aston have allowed this to go out, destroying the chic which made them an icon? They have invested such a lot in this as well... I now don't want an Aston.

MINI did a fantastic spoof movie a few years ago based very loosely on Knight Rider.

What will these marketing muppets come up with next; We've had bamboo interiors, glass starter buttons, "power, beauty, soul" patronizing bks, footballers wives exhaust notes, Toyota's in drag and now a short film so ludicrous that not even the coke fueled marketing executives who are presumably the target of this crap will be able to avoid nausea.

How about an Aston Martin IQ test and an Aston Martin Tampon for the cupid stunts who produce and value this nonsense.
