Do you ever wake up in the morning and not want to go to work?
The American effort looks like a barnyard project compared to Bloodhound SSC. Good work boys! The fins look allright to me
In all honesty......NO.The American effort looks like a barnyard project compared to Bloodhound SSC. Good work boys! The fins look allright to me
Even when the workload has been huge (it's still pretty manic, but will ramp down fairly soon) the combination of working on such an interesting/challenging project & the fantastic bunch of people here make even the worst days bearable & the better days fantastic.
it must be a great feeling to see it come together and i cannot wait to see it finished and running. i absolutely love the attention to detail that has gone into this, its a shame that you had the failure of the bearing on the pump but im sure you will be able to overcome it, oh and are you still using that "high tech" piece of 4x2 for lifting?

Does bloodhound have an emergency keep-the-nose-on-the-deck rocket system as run on Thrust SSC?

Not in the true sense of being mapped to the wheel loads, they will be controlled to a speed lookup table, but we do hope to lock them & leave.
interesting...I was imagining something like a base speed/position table with a PID loop trim based on axle loads/ride heights...
Hi All,
Big day at work today for the Bloodhound Media Launch Event for the start of manufacture of the Bloodhound Desert Wheels.
Final design all signed off, forgings delivered - today was press the green button to cut metal.
All the wheel partners were on-site along with the Bloodhound team, a High School F1 Car Project Team, BBC, Sunday Times, Economist.
The Bloodhound photographer (Stefan Marjoram) and our own photographer were on site, so hopefully some pics available soon.
Cheers,
Dougie.
