The door handle lifted up due to the heat?

Completely missing the massive dent where molegrips removed it. laugh

Got to love the Daily Mail.

Anti-air snap lock leads to blowtorch through PVC?

What do you think they would do when faced with a wood-core composite door? I know the police just just an adapted chainsaw but it's a bit inconspicuous.

It's not about you, however powerfully built you are. The point is, if they want the keys they will likely threaten your family to get them if they can't find them.

I'm 6'7". I'd still leave the keys were a determined thief would find them rather than risk my (hypothetical) family.

If you read my post mate they wouldn’t even get in to any of my property’s . Not without been completely knackered / arrested As for size etc etc doesn’t mean a thing in my experience some of the most dangerous people were quiet diminutive in stature ! However they had very few issues with causing serious harm to others ! I suspect it comes with experience...

Keeping in a locked garage, as you no doubt told your insurance company you did, might help.

They should use the premium tax on cars over £40k to buy some S3 and golf Resort type cars, leave them in desirable places and booby trap them.

Catch a few of the guys and tattoo their fods.

Caught twice and it's a gelding

Same question:

3Door or 5Door car?
Hello all,

It's a 5 door.

Just to follow up from my original post in early February.

The car was found by chance in Bradford. (I live near Leeds). Apparently the police were watching another stolen car when people in my car turned up to see these other people (perhaps doing a deal or something) the police then made after my GTI through Bradford, the thieves then abandoning the car and running off with the keys.

Since then the GTI has been in a garage in Bradford while the police perform CSI activities on it, inside they found clothing, bag of coins, a high powered drill, mole grips, gloves and some other bits and bobs. By the sounds of it they had been using it as a getaway vehicle to perform other robberies.

Police have said car theft is common at the moment, especially thieves using blowtorches to melt UPVC doors, albeit usually not to the extent where they smash the door down knowing that the occupants are awake and downstairs.

Hopefully they catch them - myself and my family are starting to get over it now but it was a horrible experience, definitely glad I just gave them the keys, 1/2 guys maybe, but not much you can do against 4 armed very determined thieves!

Since the incident we have upped our security by adding an internal camera looking out (they ripped our external camera off the wall before they started) added a big chain lock around our gates at night, replacing the broken door with a composite one with good locks, upgrading rear patio doors to outward opening (harder to break down) with laminated glass and also a Pat lock at night. We've also upgraded our garden gate with new locks/large plastic spikes across the top. All this should hopefully deter them and make them move onto the next poor bugger but still - if they want YOUR car they are taking it.

I'm also looking into getting some paintball flash grenade/bang type things to use in case it ever happens again to try and scare them off if we catch them in the act - what are your thoughts on that?

My sister came back yesterday to find her patio doors smashed and house ransacked and keys and the S4 gone. Ended up in Leeds recovered (30 miles away). This was middles of the day, brazen as hell.

Probably going to try to return it now, absolute scumbags.

Now they also know where the guy lives. Not very smart.

I commend him but not something i'd do having just parked up outside my house.

fk it, if I had a big car and a decent insurance policy I'd just do it.

I'd like to hope someone else would do the same to me. Screw them, these pricks have it too easy nicking cars with people effectively giving them the keys and a backrub on their way out.

Would your insurance pay out? You deliberately put your car where it was damaged so wouldn't they claim nothing to do with them?

They would pay out but it would be a claim on his own insurance.
